Nerd stuff: Just scored 2 128 GB thumbdrives at Best Buy for $60 each. One for music in the car, the other for Linux boot at work.

Talked to my dad for a minute or two. They've started in on PT, OT, etc, so he's tired, but he sounds ok. Better than last week. I've learned with strokes, it's attrition - everything builds on everything else. Obviously didn't mention the heart stuff - he doesn't need to hear about that now.
Thanks. It's a LOT of work, so I don't blame him a bit for being tired. The good thing I saw today is he can talk about it and he's not letting pride get in the way, not that I blame him for that either. - teleken

Meanwhile, I saw my MD (followup for the car accident) and my BP is WAY up, along with my pulse rate.Tachycardia, again, most likely coming from the Graves. She wants an EKG to make sure nothing's going to pop. As soon as PT wraps up, I need to get the uptake test done so I can take the radioactive cocktail that will kill off the thyroid gland.

Dad sounds OK. He's tired - can't blame him - but he's lucid and able to eat his own food. Lots and lots of tests. Dad being Dad, he was more interested in what I was doing. :) - teleken

I'm not broadcasting this one outside of FriendFeed, so those of you that know me from there, I'd appreciate this being kept here for the moment. My dad had another stoke last night. This one was a "mini stroke" and everything thus far looks like he'll recover back to where he was prior to this one.

No arguing this was a really long week - 108 hours in 8 days - but ultimately, it was a good one. I got a chance to prove myself, and I did. Can't ask for much more than that.

The good news I have today (I won't go into the other news - stressed out) is that my boss is letting me take next Wednesday off to make up for Memorial Day, so I get a 4 day weekend without taking vacation time. And a 3 day work week next week.

I scored a pair of these nearfield monitors in mint condition for half price. A friend with a studio in Portland upgraded to the 8 inch version (these are the KRK Rokit 5.) They sound amazing.
