Amazing that the hospital cannot contribute more after their malpractice. Elsewhere after a successful lawsuit there would have been funds to cover a professional nurse and care, rather than rely on the wife. - Nils Sandin

Learning to Code vs Learning Computer Science ← Terence Eden's Blog - http://shkspr.mobi/blog...
"Let's put it in language the humanities graduates can understand. Learning to code is merely teaching people to spell. Computer Science is about what makes a poem beautiful, why alliteration is alluring, how iambic pentameter unlocks the secrets of Shakespeare. That is what I think we need to be teaching." - Iain Baker

"Over the past six years he has composed and digitally released over 14,000 songs. In a single day, he says, he records between five and 100 tracks, though he averages 20. His output is spread across more than 200 albums, each of which is released under a relevant band name - so far there have been 65. These include specific bands for the sporting teams of each major US city, a band for the hardest word (The Sorry Apology Song Person) and a band for the haunted (The Paranormal Song Warrior)." - Iain Baker
" he invented a band called Papa Razzi and the Photogs, which has so far released 22 albums. Each consists of 20 to 40 tracks about every kind of star imaginable, from classical literature to Hollywood. There is an album called The Life of This Legendary American Music Man Is Quite Good, Yes, which includes tracks dedicated to Jon Hamm, Donald Trump's sons and ex-first lady Laura Bush. One album, called simply Celebrities!, includes the track The Susan Boyle Saga." - Iain Baker
Fascinating. But the sample song ("song") pained me. I lasted 90 seconds into "People Look Like Their Dog Sometimes." I wonder if that's one of his better songs ("songs") or worse ones. Not motivated to find out. Twenty of those a day? Ye gods. - Stephen Mack

The posh toast that costs £2.50 a slice | Life and style | theguardian.com - http://www.theguardian.com/lifeand...
" Obviously we're not talking marge on Mighty White, but rather the artisanal slices served with hand-churned butter and homemade jams that have been popping up on "toast menus" around San Francisco and now New York. And if that all sounds too yuppy and insufferable for words, brace yourself: there's more. Some of those slices are selling for $4 a pop. That's about £2.43 a slice at the current exchange rate" - Iain Baker
