Good golly! I spent ALL of yesterday cooking for the annual LARP, and all evening serving. I was at it from 5am to midnight and I think the first time I sat down was to drive out there at 5pm. I was going to paint a room today but my feet are so darn sore I might just clean the kitchen and call it a day.

Dear Emma, yes that is the saddest "I have a sick tummy face" ever but mama knows what you ate to get a sick tummy and your dad and I have spent a great deal of time cleaning up after you. Therefore it seems we have misplaced our sympathy. Love, Mama.

This morning I've cleaned up six areas of dog puke, washed a load of rags, washed a dog, washed me, stopped at Home Depot and purchased a baby gate and a 55 gallon drum of carpet cleaner, AND STILL made it to work on time. Gold star please. Also, the next time I say "The dog is fasting" and MAN feeds her ... he's cleaning it up!!!

Arrived home to find Emma, her crate, both walls and part of the carpet covered in poo. She found and ate a rabbit carcass over the weekend. She clearly does not feel well but her color is ok and she does not seem distressed. Ah the joys of dogs.

We amuse ourselves around work by plotting little revenges against ex-corporate. The latest, devised by the boss, is to send a Holiday package to the corporate area manager (the person who most likely put our head on the block as he took over our business) with a note thanking him for our best year ever. Hah!
It isn't our best year ... but we are doing better than scraping by and things are starting to look encouraging, including winning a 30k contract that ex-corporate area dude wanted really, really badly. We just want to rub it in a little :-) - Shannon - GlassMistress

Was trying to toast some pecans for chicken salad for today's lunch. I took the tray out of the toaster over and let it rest on the door (oven hangs from an overhead cabined over the sink so its about eye level). I lifted my foil packet from the try and the tray slipped. I stopped it with both thumbs ... crispy pecans and thumbs :-(

Nothing special planned for the weekend ... general laziness I guess since next weekend I do an annual catering thing for a friend's LARP, and the following is Thanksgiving. But the weather is fine and I'm not on call so I ain't complaining about not having plans :-)

Grr! Got home last night to discover that the driveway was cracked in two places. Last week the road crew ripped a corner off of it (about an 8" chunck). I wasn't happy but I figured shit happens. The cracks though are the bottom third of the driveway ... I'm really not happy now.

Confession: Sometimes I have trouble letting go of beads, its like I have to think about them for a while. I'm having that problem with the horses. I know I can do it again ... I did two to make sure ... but I just cant quite put them up for auction. I should ... but I'm procrastinating.

The 'honey do' things, yes. The wrapping paper and cake are beyond him, as is 'no ipad'. Day off is a work thing and won't happen b/c I'm taking a day to cater the LARP, though I may do nothing the following day since he'll still be at the LARP. I have to pick up and serve that night.
