Sometimes it doesn't take a gift or even a phone call. Today was a disappointing day for my family. My brother, Frank who has been battling cancer for the last six months, was scheduled to have his tumor surgically removed today. It didn't work out that way. - Jim #teamFFrank
The surgeon was concerned that Frank's tumor had grown larger in recent weeks and wanted an MRI done to see if she would have to revise her plan for the surgery. As a result the surgery was put off until Friday at the earliest and possibly next Wednesday. - Jim #teamFFrank
This was a hard pill to swallow, but we're doing the best we can. Bearing with us in our difficulty are dozens and even hundreds of people around the world, some of whom we will never meet in person in this life, who are praying for Frank and expressing support for him and my family. - Jim #teamFFrank
The simplest and, to me, the most moving show of support came from my friends on the social networking site Friendfeed. A while ago, my sister snapped a pic of me, my wife and our daughters with Frank. We were all wearing shirts that my mother had made for us which say, "Team Frank" on them. Frank has his own shirt which says simply "Frank." - Jim #teamFFrank
Someone, I'm not sure who, on Friendfeed who had seen that picture simply changed their user name to include Team Frank. That's all it took. - Jim #teamFFrank
Throughout the morning as we waited for answers and received none, and then through the afternoon back at home, I checked in on Friendfeed. Every single time it opened in my browser, at least one more user, sometimes four or five, had changed their names to include Team Frank. I told my parents, my sister and my brother about it before I left the hospital. All afternoon, as I sat trying madly to catch up on work so I can be available on Friday, more and more people on Friendfeed changed their screen names. They're still doing it even now at 8:30pm. Just since I began composing this note, 3 more people that I can count have joined Team Frank. I have no idea how many there are... I'm not even sure if there's a way to find out, but it's at least a couple of dozen at this point. - Jim #teamFFrank
I'm amazed, touched, humbled and grateful. So is my family. - Jim #teamFFrank
Later tonight, or tomorrow or whenever, all those friendfeed users will change their names back, but I and my family will never forget the day a bunch of my virtual, but very real, friends did a simple thing that brought us all a tremendous amount of comfort, blessing and support. - Jim #teamFFrank
So, Friendfeed, Team Frank says thank you and bless you. - Jim #teamFFrank
I have tears in my eyes and there aren't many of us who's lives haven't been touched by cancer. Whatever we can do, know that we will, and that you have a bunch of is in your corner and Frank's as well. <3 - Derrick

Friendfeeders, whether they changed their user names or not, have been a mainstay of support for me personally throughout this time. Today was just one more example of how supportive you all have been for months now! - Jim #teamFFrank
Take it from this survivor, you brother will kick cancer's ass. He is surrounded by love and support which are crucial to fighting the fight. He will beat this. Thinking do many good thoughts for y'all. - Mary Carmen

From Jim's FB today: "From an email I received from a member of our church just now: I have a feelng that Jesus is standing by the gate, or the front door, or whatever it is that leads into heaven, wearing a Team Frank tee shirt and waiting to give his friend a great big welcome. I think all of us feel like we know Frank, and we're glad we do." <3 - LB ❤s FF
