This is big news for Puppet in their bid to offer better support for Windows http://geekswithblogs.net/robz... (they hired the creator of Chocolatey Nuget)
Will you be at PuppetConf later this week? - Brian Johns

"I know you know that I’m not telling the truth I know you know they just don’t have any proof Embrace the deception, learn how to bend Your worst inhibitions tend to psych you out in the end" Such a catchy theme song for an entertaining show.
I'm not stepping on that landmine thread. Nope, I'm not.

The more people expect you to fail, the easier it is to be seen as a success. #obamacare
The converse is also true. Just look at Apple. They've been at both ends of the spectrum in the last 15 years. - Scoble, Alex Scoble
I bet you that Eric never checks this site http://climate.nasa.gov/evidenc... before posting his anti-climate change "news" and "facts"
I think that we live at a time when we can no longer make believe that places like Seaworld are morally acceptable. Keeping intelligent entities captive for our enjoyment is not an ethical enterprise.
Let's say there was an intelligent alien species that scooped up a bunch of humans to put in their version of a zoo. And through the zoo these aliens learned that humans we're good creatures and should not be destroyed. Is this OK? - Todd Hoff
I reread the OP and I thought of strip clubs... #mybad - WarLord
Bruce Schneier gets to the heart of the matter of the recent revelations of US government spying on its citizens. That our system works because of trust and once that trust has been undermined, it's very difficult to get it back. http://www.schneier.com/blog...
Disney makes a movie about a dude and his Native American friend and they cast a white dude to play the Native American...in the 21st century...and the movie is a colossal bomb. Yeah, who, outside of the Disney studio didn't see that one coming?
Isn't Depp partially Native American? - Colette
Warlord--to be fair, I've seen pirates more times in theatres than I should probably admit. It's one of my favorite disney film franchises... - Colette
I am very glad that the I-5 interstate bridge upgrade project is now dead in the water. I don't think it was a good design, is too expensive, would have done nothing to solve the problems of traffic congestion drivers currently face crossing to and from Washington and Oregon and would have likely made the river less usable to ships.
You're back, Alex! - Spidra Webster
Who rode 30 miles on his birthday and loved it? This guy. http://www.mapmyride.com/workout...

Gesundheit. :) - Scoble, Alex Scoble
Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! I really appreciate it. Sure makes getting older a little bit easier.
RED 2 is just as great as the first, if not better. Just so well done from writing, acting and directing. Such a fun action romp. I'd watch this movie again in a heartbeat.

Whoever invented the phrase "there's no 'I' in team" didn't think it through very well...since there is "me".
There's also 'meat'. - Akiva

Perhaps post-racial really means if you're not white, you're history.
I'd almost want to substitute "invisible" for "history," since that's what people would like to have happen. If we don't see race, we don't have to see people as people. - Jennifer Dittrich
Yeah, "history" just fits more with the term "post" heh. (I was trying to be a little clever there, just go with it ;) ) - Scoble, Alex Scoble
Me trying to explain why race matters to another white guy is like an Eskimo trying to describe an elephant to another Eskimo.
Thankfully there are voices out there like Ta-Nehisi Coates who can do the subject justice. - Scoble, Alex Scoble
Wow, just wow. - Scoble, Alex Scoble
I wonder how long it took Ansel Adams to do in the dark room what it now takes 5 minutes to do in Adobe Lightroom.
And I also imagine what images Ansel Adams would create if he were alive today and using modern photographic tools. - Scoble, Alex Scoble
It sounds like it was mainly because he was concerned about the fidelity of the print (and he was tasked with making a lot of prints), not necessarily because he was dodging and burning the hell out of his negatives. He wasn't necessarily doing a lot of post-processing, I think. - Victor Ganata

To laugh often and much to win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child a garden patch or redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. -Ralph Waldo Emerson - Scoble, Alex Scoble
