It makes me really sad & angry that the only way to watch the original trilogy without the horrible new CG insertions is to find an old VHS (or LaserDisc) copy. Thankfully, my parents do still have them on VHS (I only have the 94 re-issues on VHS), but I'm not sure I can watch them without a VCR eating the tapes.

Well, crap. Was just going back through my old, old, old posts (back beyond the 10,000 limit) and trying to save the pages manually. Then, about 20 pages into the process, I realized that there are still a lot of comments (behind the "[X] more comments" links) that I'm not capturing. Oh well; still better than nothing.
If you have a *nix install and can pull down Ruby, Victor Ganata's script works a treat. No API limit either. Got all of Melly's posts back to 2006, and Laura's to 2004.

Watching last week's episode, and they keep acting like Arrow is the first vigilante/hero in their universe. They mention him, Flash, Huntress, ATOM, Canary, etc., but ignore the rest of the DC universe that probably should be on their radar.

This is a very strange feeling. Thinking back, I know I've seen a lot of social networks/forums shuttered during my time on the Internet, but I can't remember a single other time that one has been pulled out from under me while I'm still active on it.
I will miss all of you terribly, and, while I know that other networks (such as frenf.it) will never be able to fully reproduce what we've had here, I do hope that we'll at least be able to keep a small piece of our community going outside of FF.
