My best moment? When I stopped comparing myself to where everyone else was in life. All that did was hold me back. Your life isn’t meant to look like anyone else’s because you aren’t like anyone else. You are your own best thing. Know that YOU are enough.

Good lad. The quote that always works for me on this topic is "The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself."

I've been thinking about this a lot in the five weeks I've been in DC. New Orleans was good for me in a lot of ways; I changed directions with my entire life, went back to school, started a new career and while I really wanted to leave my mark and do good things there (and maybe I did?), but I don't think I really got what I wanted out of my time there. I certainly had Big Ideas on my mind upon starting school. But at the end, I was miserable, worn out, I felt defeated, discarded even. I had some really low, depressing, and despondent times. Things are much better now and it took a lot of reflecting to arrive at the above, and if I can do it, anyone can.
