At my school, !984 is known as "The Year Without a Prom" because nobody wanted to go. We don't do proms. :P That was the year they started doing the Senior Cruise, because it was easier to drag us all on a ship and take us out to sea for the night, after graduation, than it was to get us to buy a prom ticket.

I'd definitely be in Corinne's Grrrl Crew and attempt to shimmy my way across the dance floor to have at least one dance with everyone I wanted to based on which song was playing. Depending on how much spike B and Scott managed to get into the punch, I'd probably try to steal more than a few kisses before the end of the night.

I didn't go to my senior prom (heart broken because the girl I wanted to go with was forbidden from going with me by her parents). I regret that to this day. My friends said they had a blast. I ended up going with her the summer after my Freshman year though. Took one of her friends as a favor to her but still got to dance with my girl so I was on cloud 9.
