In one month I will turn 30 years old, and I ain't gonna lie, FF - it's freaking me out a bit. Not "oh god, a wrinkle!" but "What am I doing with my life?!" and "It's all downhill from here..." Still, beats the alternative.

I felt the same way at 30. This led to a premature marriage for me. My advice in this situation is to not make any drastic or sudden life-changing decisions for at least 2 years. :^)

Yeah, one of the nice things about knowing lots of older people at different life stages is that I fully expect to still think "what will I do with my life?" until it's over.

"It's all downhill from here..." - not true. At least it doesn't have to be. I enjoyed my 20s, but my 30s were awesome, and I can't complain at all about my 40s. Different than my 20s, sure - but not "downhill" by any stretch.

Lots of good uphill sections on the trip downhill (and downhill is the exciting part of many activities anyway).

30 is awesome. It's different for women. Everyone around me told me there would be a moment when I would feel like I fell into my skin. It was totally true! You stop sweating the small stuff. As for the,"what's it allmean moments?", they have nothing to do with age, it's just life.

I'm going to turn 70 next month, and I'm about to launch a new career. The mind doesn't seem to age.

I turned 40 on Tuesday and I was in a pretty awesome mood all day. The months leading up to my birthday were when my midlife crisis was in full force - all the self-doubt, all the feelings of guilt and wrongness. Those days were rough. Now I feel good and ready to continue the trend, started in my mid- to late 30s, of not putting up with any BS, making my boundaries very clear, and staying on track for ME.

30 isn't bad at all. I am enjoying my 30's much more than I did my 20's. I'm more in touch with who I am. I'm more confident in myself. I've got an awesome Wifey now which is a heck of a lot better than all the heartache and loneliness I experienced in my 20's. I'll be a daddy soon. The 30's rock.
