Lurker. Drama-free. You can rest assured that if I ever decide to quit FF, it will be silently and in the dead of night.
Men's Rights Group Demands Their Balls Be Allowed to Breathe on Buses - http://jezebel.com/mens-ri...
"A recent campaign to stop the phenomenon known as "manspreading" on New York's transportation system has men's rights organizations in a tizzy, especially in Canada, where one "advocacy group" is demanding men be allowed to spread their legs as far and wide as they want to to avoid a pain more awful than anything women have ever known." - rønin

Screw these new-fangled refrigerators w/their metal-looking doors that are actually plastic. Where am I supposed to stick my magnets on now?
plastic doors? that's just wrong. - Big Joe Silenced
I have seen those before. Sadly it's to bring in the people who want the LOOK of stainless, but don't want to spend as much for actual stainless. Personally, I am not a fan of stainless appliances...which could be the non-comformist in me coming out >.> - Chris Topher

My father had a huge stack of 80G IDE drives that he had no use for any more. He wiped them, popped them into USB enclosures, filled them with jazz music, and gave them as gifts to his jazz loving friends. - April Russo (FForever!)

A few years ago, I ended up staying home for Christmas, so I went looking for a Chinese restaurant. All I could find that was open on Christmas afternoon were Indian and Pakistani restaurants. - bentley
Should prolly head to bed early since the kids’ll most likely be up @ the crack o’ dawn for wrapping paper shredding time.

They were actually incredibly good this morning and didn't wake me up until after 9. Apparently my son was up at 7:30, didn't wake up her sister until 8:30 and then finally got me up after 9 to prepare breakfast for them. - rønin

Floating Toilets That Clean Themselves Grow On A Lake : Goats and Soda : NPR - http://www.npr.org/blogs...
"Imagine you live on a floating lake house. Open air. Chirping crickets. Clear, starry nights. Everything seems great until you need to use the bathroom. The natural instinct might be to make a deposit in the water. But that wouldn't be safe. Microbes in your feces would contaminate the water and could cause outbreaks of deadly diseases, like cholera. A group of engineers in Cambodia wants to solve that problem for the floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Over a million people live on or around it. Exposure to wastewater spawns diarrhea outbreaks each year. In Cambodia, diarrheal diseases cause 1 in 5 deaths of children under age 5." - rønin
Co-workers recreate classic art - CNN.com - http://www.cnn.com/2014...
"Goofing around in the office has been taken to a whole new level by a couple of guys who work for Squarespace, a website creation company in New York City. Chris Limbrick and Francesco Fragomeni started making what they call "painting remixes" in early November. The side-by-side mashups of everything from Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam" to Frida Kahlo's 1943 self-portrait "Thinking About Death" have gathered thousands of followers on their website, Tumblr and Instagram pages. The project they've dubbed "FoolsDoArt" began on a whim, and got an unlikely assist from Limbrick's mother." - rønin

Damnit, wish they sold parsley in tiny bunches. I always buy a big clump, use a fraction of it & then toss the rest after a few weeks.
If you buy two (or more) bunches, you could make a decent amount of tabbouleh, though! - Andrew C (✔)

When did food @ chain eateries become so bad? TGIF, Olive Garden, Applebee’s et al. It’s like a half step up from TV dinners these days.
I've never liked most food chains, but Red Lobster & Olive Garden used to be edible. Now, everything is salty & greasy. I sort of stopped eating at chain restaurants about 20 years ago, because there were none around & better options. I wonder if it's that distance than makes it taste bad. - Anika

Hello Kitty Plane Will Head To Houston In June 2015 - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014...
Maybe some year they'll make it out to the East coast. =p "Taiwan-based EVA Air has announced that starting in June, they'll send their brand-new Hello Kitty jet on a route from Taipei to Houston, meaning a whole new swath of the U.S. will get to see those tricked-out planes with Hello Kitty luggage tags, Hello Kitty pillows, Hello Kitty soap and inflight meals where every last melon slice, cheese morsel and rice patty is shaped like Kitty's adorable head." - rønin

'Marco Polo': Netflix's Critical Flop that Dared to be Diverse - The Atlantic - http://www.theatlantic.com/enterta...
"But the truth is, despite its many, many flaws, Marco Polo actually does follow many of MANAA's suggestions, including the following: Asian names or racial features as no more "unusual" than those of whites. More Asian and Asian American lead roles. Until the proverbial playing field is truly level, Asian roles—especially lead roles—should be reserved for Asian actors." - rønin

How Turbans Helped Some Blacks Go Incognito In The Jim Crow Era : Code Switch : NPR - http://www.npr.org/blogs...
"There's a weekly trial on the Internet about who may be stealing culture from whom. Earlier this week, the defendants were Iggy Azalea and white gay men. A while back, it was Macklemore and the Harlem Shakers. Now, we have come across a story from the Jim Crow era about cultural mimicry between people of color." - rønin
How To Make Taiwan’s Famous Ice Cream Burrito | Audrey Magazine - http://audreymagazine.com/how-to-...
Urrr... this must be a relatively recent thing. Cause my wife & I have never heard of or even seen this before. "Found around Taiwan’s famous night markets, the ice cream wrap features peanut candy shavings and a spring-roll crepe cover. There is a savory version of this with pork, cabbage and ground peanuts that is a long-standing, traditional dish. However, it’s the tart ice cream and crunchy peanut candy that makes the sweet version such a hit, starting from its origins in Yilan to trendy settings in Taipei." - rønin
Instagram makes teens and celebrities angry by killing millions of spambots | The Verge - http://www.theverge.com/2014...
LMAO. Although that is a pretty massive drop. "A crackdown on spam Instagram accounts has triggered a cataclysm in the world of low-grade social media celebrities. The event, which began today after the photo-sharing service made good on its promise to start deleting millions of fake accounts, has been dubbed the "Instagram Rapture" after the follower counts of apparently popular Instagrammers were savaged. Jenni Farley, maybe better known as Jersey Shore's JWoww, saw her followers drop from 2.6 million to 115,000, while rapper Ma$e committed Instagram's version of seppuku, deleting his account after freefalling from 1.6 million followers to around 100,000." - rønin

Underwater Cameras Capture Incredible Footage of Killer Whales at Play - http://petapixel.com/2014...
"Here’s a short clip from the Smithsonian Channel‘s series “Hunt for the Super Predator.” It shows an encounter a team of photographers and scientists had with killer whales at Bremer Canyon off the coast of Western Australia. Using a special camera rig he designed, wildlife cameraman David Riggs shot some amazing underwater footage of killer whales that looks too good to be true (you can find it at 1:35 in the video)." - rønin
