Police Respect Squandered in Attacks on de Blasio - NYTimes.com - http://www.nytimes.com/2014...
"They have taken the most grave and solemn of civic moments — a funeral of a fallen colleague — and hijacked it for their own petty look-at-us gesture. In doing so, they also turned their backs on Mr. Ramos’s widow and her two young sons, and others in that grief-struck family. These are disgraceful acts, which will be compounded if anyone repeats the stunt at Officer Liu’s funeral on Sunday." - Eric @ CS Techcast
Air Asia flight missing - http://www.bbc.com/news...
"Indonesian media say 162 people were on board. The aircraft, flight number QZ8501, lost contact with Jakarta air traffic control just after 06:15am local time, a transport official told local media. The official, Hadi Mustofa, said the plane had asked for an unusual route before losing contact." - Eric @ CS Techcast
N. Korea compares Obama to monkey in hacking row - http://www.sfchronicle.com/busines...
"On Saturday, the North's powerful National Defense Commission, the country's top governing body led by Kim, said that Obama was behind the release of "The Interview." It described the movie as illegal, dishonest and reactionary. "Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest," an unidentified spokesman at the commission's Policy Department said in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency." - Eric @ CS Techcast
The Weirdest Questions People Asked Librarians Before The Internet - http://io9.com/the-wei...
"Before we had Google for all of our embarrassing questions, Pinterest for craft inspiration, and Craigslist for all of the odds and ends of life, more people relied on public librarians to field all manner of questions. And the New York Public Library still has records of some pretty odd ones." - Eric @ CS Techcast

My favorite from the Gothamist article: Can you tell me the thickness of a US Postage stamp with the glue on it? Answer: We cannot get this answer quickly. Perhaps try the Postal Service. Response: This is the Postal Service. http://gothamist.com/2014... - April Russo (FForever!)
So a dude from across the street brough a can over to my front yard, poured the contents out on my lawn, dropped the can, and sneaked away. Why, just why?
I went confront him but he wouldn't get out of his car. Ass. - Eric @ CS Techcast
Lil Wayne Gets Two New Face Tats - http://www.xxlmag.com/news...
"Apparently people who speak Arabic don’t understand what Lil Wayne’s new tat means. According to Al Arabiya News, Wayne’s Arabic script tat doesn’t say “momma’s boy” rather it reads something closer to nonsense when translated properly." - Eric @ CS Techcast

Ghostface Killah Performs at Cafe Toastface Grillah in Australia - http://www.egotripland.com/ghostfa...
"Ghostface meets Toastface. It wasn’t a comic book showdown, but a real life performance down in Perth, as Tony Starks (with Wu-Block crime partner Sheek Louch) stopped by the Toastface Grillah cafe (some of you might remember this food-centric promo mix from earlier this year), and did a quick live show going through not only some of his own hits but Wu and ODB classics." - Eric - Final Countdown

Paula Deen's Christmas Is Perhaps a Nightmare - http://www.thebraiser.com/watch-p...
"sort of how we imagine Christmas on acid might be. No seriously, it all makes sense: there’s bright colors, men in pornstaches and robes, Santa Claus-lookalikes (can we talk about how Deen’s husband resembles Santa to a T?), bacon, and so much whipped cream that it in fact doesn’t even look good anymore." - Eric - Final Countdown
the dude in the red satin robe talks like Foghorn Leghorn doing a Seka film. - Big Joe Silenced
Had to send a present back to Amazon today. It was broken.
I have a friend who's in Afghanistan and won't see his family until May. I feel for him, but I try to chat with him everyday and check in with his wife. My son loves to sleep over at his house and play XBOX with his son. He's getting ready for the snow/sleet/rain which turns the dusty dirt into a muddy mess. I think he's doing okay though.
NYPD Union President Patrick Lynch Is Completely Nuts: A History - http://gawker.com/nypd-un...
"Over the weekend, Lynch blamed Bill de Blasio for the Saturday deaths of two Brooklyn cops who were murdered by a lone gunman from Baltimore. “That blood on the hands,” he said at a press conference, “starts on the steps of City Hall, in the office of the mayor.” To understand why he would say something so wrong and inflammatory, you need to delve into Lynch’s long, checkered history of issuing similarly insane statements. His public declarations over the past 15 years are essentially pro-police agitprop: Cops can do no wrong, while victims of their state-sanctioned violence always had it coming. They are also a deep well of masculine anxiety, hurt feelings, and barely disguised racism." - Eric - Final Countdown

Calling TiVO experts. Calling TiVO experts. I have a friend that is looking into cord cutting and wondering if he can setup a TiVO system for Hopper DVR-like functionality for locals.
Those kids from the Halo commercials need to be in a mental institution before they murder, or murder again.
The Big Fish Casino woman needs to check into one as well, for her gambling addiction. - vicster.

I've seen a decent amount of outrage about outrage. I'm passionate about the First Amendment. I follow and am passionate about this movie because of that. If you want to minimize that because of comparisons you want to make to other sucky things happening, that's fine, but I'm no idiot.
Excuse me, are you the sommelier? Yes. I'd like to know what pair well with a $2,000+ car repair bill? Yes sir, I believe a leaking water heater that has flooded you laundry room and requires a complete replacement would be just the pairing. Well, that is exactly what I'll have. The fucked up special please.
Sorry. I wish to reject this pairing and ask for one that will keep me sane! Because this bitch is about to lose her mind with all the shit we've dealt with the last few months! - Elena
Are you sure it's strong enough? - April Russo (FForever!)

The Most Serious Incidents Involved In Bobby Shmurda And GS9's Indictment - http://www.xxlmag.com/news...
"According to prosecutors, GS9 was a “criminal street organization” in Flatbush, with the investigation indicating that they operated from January 2013 until October 2014 and the crimes from the indictment carried out with the intent to maintain and defend territory against rival gangs such as Folk Nation and Brooklyn’s Most Wanted (BMW). Prosecutors also allege that GS9′s operations were funded by drug deals and that members used code words for guns (“tone” or “socks”), drugs (“crills”) and shootings (“suntan” or “scoom”). Authorities recorded 14 separate incidents where GS9 members fired weapons, sometimes in public places, and eight instances of members being arrested for weapons possession. Multiple shooting incidents are detailed in the prosecutor’s report. The first, from July 12, involved a 22-year-old woman shot in the neck in Brooklyn who was apparently standing in between Rashid “Rasha” Derrisant and Alex “A-Rod” Crandon and a member of the rival BMW gang. Rasha shot A-Rod in the arm during the incident; the two were charged alongside Deshain “Mitch” Cockett and Brian “Meeshie” Harvey for the crime (you may remember all four of them from the lyrics to “Hot Nigga,” with the particular line, “Mitch caught a body ’bout a week ago”)." - Eric - Final Countdown

Torture: Why the uniformed military balked at ‘enhanced interrogation’ - http://www.stripes.com/news...
"“I question whether this theory would ultimately prevail in either U.S. courts or in any international forum,” Maj. Gen. Thomas Romig, Army judge advocate general at the time, wrote in a March 2003 memo to the Department of the Air Force general counsel. Maj. Gen. Jack Rives, the deputy judge advocate general of the Air Force at the time, echoed those concerns. He wrote in a February 2003 memo that several of the proposed techniques “on their face, amount to violations of domestic and criminal law and the UCMJ (e.g., assault) …”" - Eric - Final Countdown
