I'm game. #askmeanything
What's your favorite thing about being a dad? - Kristin
More babies in the future? - AHnix (Anna Haro)
What's the first movie you ever saw? - Meg VMeg
There's so many but I'll narrow it down to two (in no particular order) 1) Coming home from a long day at work, opening the door and hearing "Dadda!" followed by the pitter patter of little feet as Linky waddle runs over to hug my leg. 2) Seeing Linky discover and learn new things on a daily basis. Tonight he was amazed that the water stream coming out of the faucet looked solid but when he stuck his hand into it it wasn't. That brought a smile to my face. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
The three most inspirational women you've ever known? - AHnix (Anna Haro)
What makes a perfect pizza? - AHnix (Anna Haro)
Lord willing there will be at least another baby (maybe two) in our future. We should get our completed home study paperwork any day now. We're supposed to close on our house in July. Once we get into the house it will be full court press on adoption #2. 2015 is an exciting year for the Burns Clan. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Meg: First movie I ever saw is a tough one. One of the first movies I remember seeing in a movie theater was Return to Oz. It came out summer of '85. I went to a matinee with my Mom. I remember it being nice because I didn't get to do stuff with just my Mom without my brother around very often. The flying monkeys were scary. That was right before we moved overseas. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Last time you laughed really, really hard? (If it was no pants Linky in church, tell me about the time before that) - AHnix (Anna Haro)
How did you discover FF? - LB ❤s FF, esp. YOU
3 most inspirational women: My Grandma Hill (RIP) For someone lacking much formal education my grandma was one of the smartest, kindest people I've ever met. Whip sharp whit. She told stories from memory to the kids at the local library in her little town in Arkansas well into her 90's. She liked making up riddles and reciting poems. She stressed education to all of her 9 kids. All but 2 went to college I believe and from her a long line of teachers, lawyers, doctors and successful business people (and IT geeks) has sprung forth. She was truly our matriarch in every sense of the word. I miss her a lot. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
3 most inspirational women (continued): My Mom. Smart. Strong. Spunky. Ambitious. We went through some pretty rough times when my brother and I were young. We had a lot of health issues. Mom was our rock. She held our family together when we could have easily fallen apart. She sacrificed a successful career in journalism to stay at home with us when we moved overseas for my Dad's job. I learned inner strength and caring for others (in addition to a host of other things) from her. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
3 most inspirational women (continued): Kesha (Wifey) Kesha is the strongest person I've ever met. She's endured so many difficult things in her life and managed to come through with a smile her face and a positive outlook on life. I wish I had even a forth of her strength. She's my rock. She inspires me every day to be a better me. Truly my better half. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Perfect pizza: Nice thick crust with a hint of sweatness. Lots of cheese. Chicken or pepperoni. Rich tomato sauce (with the pepperoni) or barbecue sauce (with the chicken). Lightly topped with Parmesan cheese prior to serving. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Pro Athlete: I'll divide this into a sport I can actually play and one I wish I could. Sport I can play: Soccer. Team: Manchester United + at least one international cap for Team USA. Sport I can't play: Basketball. Team: Memphis Grizzlies (of course!) This of course assumes that I grow 7 inches. I'd be a defensive stopper like Tony Allen. Can't shoot worth a lick but if you need a steal I'm your guy. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
No Pants Linky pretty much takes the cake recently. I'll have to think on this a little bit. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
I discovered FF through Jason Toney back in 2007. I was an avid reader of his popular blog negroplease.com back in the day. He had several posts about FF and how great it was so I decided to check it out. I didn't really become active until October of 2008 when we moved to Missouri. I was out of work for several months and spent way more time than is probably healthy on here. Certified member of the Late Night Crew! #ffdanceparty - DB, Lil LB's Dad
When did you meet Kesha? - LB ❤s FF, esp. YOU
I met Kesha through Yahoo! Personals in February 2006. She liked my goofy profile. I didn't know what to write so I answered one of those silly questionnaires people passed around on MySpace about what you're looking for in a mate. She liked that and said I had a nice smile in my profile picture. She reached out. I was blown away that this beautiful woman was interested in me. I eagerly wrote this rambling, random response email. Crickets... I didn't hear anything back! I figured I had scared her off. Little did I know that she only had a free account. She couldn't write back! Thankfully I used the same picture on my MySpace account that I used on Yahoo! Personals. To this day I don't know how she did it but she found me on MySpace by my picture. The rest is history. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Will you marry me? - Melly #FForever
Which do you think will get you first, instant karma or the rhythm? - Corinne L
(A United fan! :) ) - Jenny H.
My dance card is full on the marriage front Melly but under different circumstances definitely. I'm a sucker for accents. :-) - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Definitely the rhythm. I play trumpet and piano but have no rhythm when it comes to dancing. I'll likely die in some tragic dancing accident. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
I thought of an answer to the laughing question. A few weeks ago right before the big snow storm we took Linky to the playground. This was our first time taking him since he started walking. Wifey is a germaphobe and the thought of him crawling around on the ground freaked her out. He'd never been down the slide before so I took him to the toddler slide, sat him at the top and let him go. He flew to the bottom and looked a bit terrified... - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Wifey looked at me and said "It's his first time! You're supposed to go down with him!" She passed him up to me and we proceeded to go down the slide together. Me being a larger sized man and this being a toddler sized slide you can imagine what happened. I got stuck about half way down. Couldn't budge another inch. Wifey started cracking up. This of course made Linky start laughing. I couldn't help but laugh at myself. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Haha! That would have been the best pic! :D - AHnix (Anna Haro)
The funny thing is there's a Peppa Pig episode where the exact thing happened with Daddy Pig and George. Every time that episode comes on it makes us laugh even more. I'm the real life Daddy Pig. (Parents might be the only ones to get this reference. Linky loves Peppa Pig.) - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Yeah. Wifey was laughing too hard to think to snap a pic. We've got tons of pics from that day but not that one unfortunately. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Best compliment ever received? - AHnix (Anna Haro)
You ask great questions Anna! I'm gonna have to think about this one. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
Kesha says I'm a great dad and hubby. I don't agree with this assessment of myself most of the time but its about the highest compliment a husband and father could aspire to so I'm appreciative. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
