I'm not sure how I feel about the fact than an "artisanal ramen" place is opening up in my hood. I can no longer deny the fact that where I live is totally and utterly gentrified.
One of the groups Facebook suggests I join: Weather Manipulation / Chemtrails / Geoengineering - 8,260 members /facepalm
I love that chemtrails and geoengineering go in the same group. - John (bird whisperer)
as above, so below ;) - Pete's Got To Go

"By World War II, the church had sizable investments and created the Vatican Bank in order to hide its financial dealings with the Nazis from the U.S. and the U.K." - Victor Ganata
"So what does that result in? It results in the Vatican Bank being one of the top banks in the world for money laundering — a haven often for these business executives involved in scandals in Italy." - Victor Ganata
Huh. Did 10.10.2 really get rid of the text bubbles in iChat—I mean, Messages.app? I had just gotten used to Yosemite's totally flat UI and now the sharp edges on the text boxes are seriously throwing me off. #IncreasinglyResistantToChange
Unexplained phenomena Part VI: so the electric toothbrush that I'd given up for dead back in December (but which—because I am a hoarder—had not yet thrown away) decided to come back to life in the middle of the night for no particular reason except to scare the crap out of me.
On the plus side, the inexplicable puddle from yesterday http://friendfeed.com/aswang... did not rematerialize. - Victor Ganata

Are you a CANadian? Or a CAN'Tadian?
One of the things I remember about my General Chemistry class in college was that we spent a lot of time on quantum mechanics. I can't say I understood everything about it, but QM in chemistry was a lot more empirical and concrete than QM in physics.
They let us play around with atomic emission spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and I think getting to know how to use the instruments did require getting to know QM. At least, if you wanted to write a good "discussion" section on your lab reports. - Victor Ganata
Unexplained phenomena Part V: woke up this morning to find a large puddle in the middle of the room downstairs. It wasn't next to a wall and the ceiling above it wasn't wet. It was enough water to completely saturate two bath towels.
I guess the exorcism—I mean, the blessing—done by a priest in 2013 didn't take. http://friendfeed.com/aswang... - Victor Ganata
When we encounter something like that in our line of work the water is usually coming from elsewhere but running to a 'low spot'. Or you could go with the localized auroa thing ... I like that better anyway :-) Good luck! - Shannon - GlassMistress
Remember when everyone thought the iPad would fail because it had zero support for Flash?
Remember when everyone thought not supporting Flash was some nefarious scheme by Apple and not the fact that Adobe didn't really have well-thought out plans for supporting Flash on mobile platforms? - Victor Ganata
I wouldn't feel bad about being at work today if I were actually saving lives or something. If I hear one more person complain about having a stomach ache after stuffing themselves yesterday, I will scream.
