Unexplained phenomena Part VI: so the electric toothbrush that I'd given up for dead back in December (but which—because I am a hoarder—had not yet thrown away) decided to come back to life in the middle of the night for no particular reason except to scare the crap out of me.

One of the things I remember about my General Chemistry class in college was that we spent a lot of time on quantum mechanics. I can't say I understood everything about it, but QM in chemistry was a lot more empirical and concrete than QM in physics.

They let us play around with atomic emission spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and I think getting to know how to use the instruments did require getting to know QM. At least, if you wanted to write a good "discussion" section on your lab reports.
