My family's first computer
We got it when I was six. It's "portable"! - Shannon Jiménez
Oh the memories... - Bret Taylor
I had the exact same computer! :) - Ana
Fancy. We had a vic-20. - Paul Buchheit
My dad actually brought the computer on airplanes, carry on. It weighed like 8 billion pounds. I can't imagine what TSA would do if you tried to carry this thing on nowadays :) - Bret Taylor
I think the appropriate term is "luggable". We had a Sinclair, then TI-99, then a C64; how's that for obscure? - Joel Webber
TRS-80 model 1 level 1 for me. Inside it was powered by a small gerbil called "Z-80". http://peggyluwho.files.wordpress.com/2008... - Scott Ludwig
Nice. That's the Compaq, right? - Eric - Final Countdown
Yep, Compaq. - Shannon Jiménez
Commodore had a 'portable' version of the C64 like this as well. The SX64. - Rodfather
Nice! I had a Timex Sinclair 1000 (aka ZX-81) with the optional 16KB memory expansion pack, then a Commodore 64, and then a PC (386SX, 20MHz, 2MB RAM, 40MB hard disk) - Tudor Bosman
Anyone here remember having a PC with a "turbo" button? I remember having one that would boost cpu speed from 4.77mhz to 8mhz (I think it was 8). It was glorious. We need to bring back the turbo button. - Scott Ludwig
Here's what mine looked like (with a TV and a tape recorder to load programs): http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3174.... Times were great! :) - Artem Boytsov
