friendfeed_image_zoom — browser extension — initial release v0.1.0 —————— **Firefox_Install**: https://raw.github.com/wittman... ... (**Chrome Install SEE**: http://friendfeed.com/micahwi... )
This is in the simplified userscript that can load into Chrome and Greasemonkey/Firefox. If there's interest, I'll repackage it into a Chrome Web Store extension next. Enjoy! Source: https://github.com/wittman... - Micah

COOL! - AJ Batac
Thanks, AJ. Are you using it in Chrome or Firefox? - Micah
I'm using Chrome/Mac. There's a .5 second delay and redirect that I see but that's minor. - AJ Batac
I installed in both Firefox and Chrome and still get the download notification. Could using https be a problem? - John (bird whisperer)
You're right John. - AJ Batac
Opera is not feeling the love (it makes impossible to comment, also *edit* that could be my other scripts confusing it) - Michael W. May
Installed, liked and shared this post on the Italian side of FF. - Xabaras (G.O.)
Cool beans. I'll be sure to test it later. - DB, Lil LB's Dad
John, it only actives on HTTP, but it's a simple change to work on HTTPS too. New release tonight (other feedback welcome too). - Micah
hrm. won't install for me. must investigate further. - holly #ravingfangirl
Xabaras - thanks! - Micah
Looks like https isn't (or isn't the only) problem. It's still bringing up the download image notification even with https everywhere disabled. - John (bird whisperer)
holly, did you click Confirm on dialog button at bottom of chrome, then refreash page? - Micah
John, on Windows 7/Chrome standard? - Micah
i am using FF - I get the prompt to install in Greasemonkey, but when i click the button, nothing happens. i assume it's my computer/version of FF. - holly #ravingfangirl
On Windows Vista, Firefox beta (with various extensions) and Chrome standard (with fewer extensions). - John (bird whisperer)
holly, there's no fanfare when it installs. Refresh page and click on a native image upload to test (not a bookmark post image). - Micah
Example post to try it on: http://friendfeed.com/glenc... - Bruce Lewis
nope, not working. when i click the install button, nothing happens at all - the install button stays there, like it was never clicked. - holly #ravingfangirl
Interesting that you are using the Search page for the "zooming". - chrisofspades #FForever.
holly, try this install link: https://raw.github.com/wittman... - Micah
bazinga! that worked - thanks, micah! - holly #ravingfangirl
chris, the search page turned out to be a good place to repurpose. - Micah
Woohoo! Works in Firefox (had to restart the browser first) - Soup in a TARDIS
JA, I believe there's a arrow/checkbox next to each extension that can enable it in Incognito mode. http://groups.google.com/a... - Micah
Awesome - Iván Abrego
=== NEW ===: For Chrome users, I just released a Chrome Web Store extension version of this script: http://friendfeed.com/micahwi... - Micah
The last link you gave holly worked for me in Firefox. - John (bird whisperer)
Yep, last link did it for me too. - Meg VMeg
Ok, great feedback. I removed my short URL in the OP (it's my own URL shortener app, so I guess it was causing some problemos) and put the full address. Thanks, crew! - Micah
Awesome. Thanks! - [email protected]

they should give you the deed to FF, like in cartoons how they would for ranches - sofarsoShawn
Ran into issues with this today. I had installed a GreaseMonkey script ages ago, apparently the latest FF update messed something up. The script was breaking all the internal FF links (like expend the list of comments, or expand a comment to see more than 512 chars). I can't seem to get the current Github file to load into Greasemonkey now, complains 'the addon appears to be corrupt'. Probably user error on my part, but I've given up on it for now. - Ken Gidley
Yes, same here. Recent updates of Firefox/GM messed up Image Zoom completely. It's eother viewing image attachments or having JS working in Friendfeed. Maybe someone could fix the Image Zoom script to make it compatible again? - [email protected]
My experience is also that new Firefox + Image Zoom completely borks Friendfeed's Javascript. - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
Roll back to pre-GreaseMonkey 1.0, Andrew. That resolves is, although preventing GreaseMonkey from auto updating is a huge pain the in ass. The new GM has borked tons of scripts, but they don't seem inclined to change it. - Soup in a TARDIS
Does anyone have the link to how you install this on Safari? I installed it on one computer but forgot to install it on this one... - Spidra Webster
I modified my (Chrome) copy of Golden View Friendfeed Image Zoom to make it work also with the links included in comments (e.g. http://m.friendfeed-media.com/cae6678... ), if anyone is interested I can share the code. - vic
*Bump* (note: feature vic mentioned got rolled into current version for Chrome. Don't think I updated the firefox script yet). - Micah
bump... did something recently break this (on Firefox) or did I do something weird to my own Firefox? (edit: I guess we're past the point of new comments bringing this to the top?) - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
Image zoom still works for me in Firefox. - John (bird whisperer)
