OH: "You must take the chance to ride in an American's car someday. You should see how much stuff they put inside their cars and just keep there. It's like 'Hoarders'."
The Korean postdocs are really fascinated by American culture sometimes. - Jessie
in my car it's mostly paper napkins from fast food places. :P - Big Joe Silenced
HA HA HA! - Corinne L
That's funny. On a Korean variety show and one celebrity cleaned another's car and he kept talking about how full of random crap it was and everyone said, "Oh, well she's American. It's what they do." - Anika
Totally guilty. Although pre-kids there was nothing. - Jaclyn aka spamgirl
I have 3-4 jackets in my trunk. But I realized they buffer the bottles of alcohol from breaking, while driving. - Gabrielle
I don't know about the rest of the country, but given how much Angelenos live in their car, I am not surprised. - Victor Ganata
In the colder areas, we tend to keep snow/ice implements in the trunk year round. - Heather
When we say "junk in the trunk" we mean it literally and figuratively. - Corinne L
Snow and ice implements seem prudent in areas that require it, but I've definitely been in people's cars where they carry things like multiple pairs of heels, cases of soda, audio receivers, bookcase speakers, bookcases, a Mac Mini with an external hard drive and an external DVD/CD-ROM, vast quantities of yarn, glitter and other crafting supplies, cages for dogs even though they don't own dogs, tax forms from years past, pay stubs, 25-pound dumbbells, etc. for months at a time. (And no, this isn't my car. Well for most of these things.) - Victor Ganata
Suuuuuure, Victor. We totally believe you. - Jaclyn aka spamgirl
Was she talking about your car, Jessie? :) - Anne Bouey
I think my car would be a disappointment for them -- aside from an emergency blanket and a repair kit in the trunk, it's almost totally empty. I keep Target bags in the passenger seat, though, so it looks like I'm trying. - Jessie
Back when my hubby had a car, he kept everything but the kitchen sink in the trunk. Quite literally, a small kitchen, minus the sink. Toaster oven, double burner hot plate, cookware, dishes, utensils, and a small ice chest. And he used that stuff daily, to avoid eating from the unhealthy menu of nothing but deep fried greasy food, where he worked. - April Russo (FForever!)
