"Yeah, It's pretty solid! I tweaked the control panel a bit and got the buttons a little closer to where they're supposed to be. Pretty immersive! Game plays great in VR! Thanks, again!"

"I did install the plugin and opened a few of the other cabinet .dds files. I saw various elements to the texture that appeared to be distress to the cabinet edging and other details. I just haven't worked enough in Unreal Engine (or any engine) to understand the texture layout. I want it to look good and not just "good enough", ya know? The bezel type is a little unique with the glass in front of the recessed monitor, so that might require a different cabinet model too,"

"I knew where to source the hi-res images, just not exactly how to set up the .dds files with appropriate mip-mapping and whatnot. That, and the button placement XML settings."

Hugs and high fives to all the folks I met here on FriendFeed. I have very fond memories of time spent here. Hope to catch you elsewhere. I'll always be at http://www.nathanchase.com - and usually "nathanchase" everywhere else.
"They should just integrate two Kinect2s in those breakout boxes mounted on the walls to capture all the body position data. Then you'd have the headset for the head, controllers for the interface, and the Kinects for the rest of the body. Having your entire real body in the game would help tremendously - but perhaps the latency is just too high?"

"This is a great idea for a proof-of-concept educational demo. Appeals to all ages - especially the baby boomers who have money to invest. :)"

"I actually really enjoyed Cloud Atlas. It was a very ambitious movie to make, so I give them a lot of credit for how well an "unfilmable" book turned out."
