"It's going to end sometime, but I think his pages must have stuck together in his copy of the Bible where it says we are not to know the hour or the moment."

in fact what the Bible says is that not even Jesus knows..."The primary scripture reference cited against this position is Matthew 24:36, where Jesus is quoted saying; __"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only__"" https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikiped...

"In New York, follower Robert Fitzpatrick, 60, spent his entire $140,000 life savings on 1,000 subway-car placards and ads at bus stops warning about May 21. The ads read: “Global Earthquake: The Greatest Ever! Judgment Day May 21, 2011.” Another Camping follower, 27-year-old Adrienne Martinez, was planning to go to medical school but decided not to after listening to Family Radio. Martinez and her husband, Joel, had lived in New York City but a year ago quit their jobs and moved to Orlando. They spent their time reading the Bible and distributing tracts, according to NPR. They have a two-year-old daughter and a second child due next month. “We budgeted everything so that, on May 21, we won’t have anything left,” Adrienne said to NPR."

People buy the strangest things. Stuff I thought would be difficult to sell went in the first 30 minutes of the garage sale. Stuff I thought would sell didn't (but fortunately all the free stuff left on the lawn has now disappeared).
Unsaleable, mostly unusable and destined for a recycling bin otherwise. They were a gift from my late MIL when my kids were young.

I guess they are like my Linn turntable, Nakamichi cassette deck, and Denon CD player (and to a certain extent me if I was being honest).

My wife has a set of Limoges china and Birks sterling flatware (and a whole bunch of other antique silver pieces) in the same class of relics.

Other relics we are moving -- a tube TV (due for replacement but it just isn't the right time).

The pending removal of the visible URL from Chrome and Firefox seems potentially like the removal of the visible file extension in Windows Explorer. An apparent simplification but hiding critical decision making information.

"The ICON workstation and LEXICON file server were originally designed by Cemcorp, the Canadian Educational Microprocessor Corporation, specifically for use in Canadian schools. They were first produced by Burroughs then took the name of Unisys when Burrough and Sperry merged to form Unisys. Up to about 20 diskless workstations got everything off of the central file-server. They ran QNX, a flavour of Unix operating system with optional GUI shell. The workstations offered a graphical interface including windows, pick-areas, and a tracker/cursor that responded to the user through manipulation of a trackball located onto the keyboard."

The QNX used in the ICON is the same (at least from the same people) as RIM bought recently and included in the Playbook (and likely to power future Blackberrys).
