Read the Iranian foreign minister's super passive-aggressive response to Tom Cotton - Vox - http://www.vox.com/2015...
"Zarif expressed astonishment that some members of US Congress find it appropriate to write to leaders of another country against their own President and administration. He pointed out that from reading the open letter, it seems that the authors not only do not understand international law, but are not fully cognizant of the nuances of their own Constitution when it comes to presidential powers in the conduct of foreign policy." - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
"Foreign Minister Zarif added that "I should bring one important point to the attention of the authors and that is, the world is not the United States, and the conduct of inter-state relations is governed by international law, and not by US domestic law. The authors may not fully understand that in international law, governments represent the entirety of their respective states, are responsible for the conduct of foreign affairs, are required to fulfil the obligations they undertake with other states and may not invoke their internal law as justification for failure to perform their international obligations." - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
"The Iranian Foreign Minister added that "change of administration does not in any way relieve the next administration from international obligations undertaken by its predecessor in a possible agreement about Irans peaceful nuclear program." He continued "I wish to enlighten the authors that if the next administration revokes any agreement with the stroke of a pen, as they boast, it will have simply committed a blatant violation of international law."" - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
"Zarif expressed the hope that his comments "may enrich the knowledge of the authors to recognize that according to international law, Congress may not modify the terms of the agreement at any time as they claim, and if Congress adopts any measure to impede its implementation, it will have committed a material breach of US obligations." - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
Water bottle filling station at Moscone Center.  Raise the bottle to activate the bottle sensor and start the water flow, lower the bottle to stop the water. Note that the instructions are hidden by the bottle while in filling position.  It would actually be hard to find a less awkward position to put the instructions. - http://f---nobaddesign.tumblr.com/post...
Just to be clear, "Let It Go" was about Elsa fully embracing her destiny as a remorseless supervillain? And kids love this song?
That's not even the first song Idina Menzel has sung about that particular trope :D - Victor Ganata
Sorta like how Abraham embraced his willing to slay his own son but then didn't have to so kids love that story now? - Micah
So how do we get set up to run Claudio's FF exporter on Windows? Do we just download PHP for Windows?
It's in Italian, but this blog says how to do it in Windows. http://www.andreabeggi.net/2011... - Spidra Webster

I remember when Television Without Pity got shut down. That one had a few months (eight? five? It felt like a lot) between announcement and closure, but all that did was put me in denial, mostly, until a couple of days before the site closed.
Yeah, I could see that but I could sure use a month or more of good site uptime in case I have to manually get out my posts and bookmarks and contact info. - Spidra Webster
TWoP was its third name! It started out as DawsonsWrap, then was Mighty Big TV when I joined. I was on its forums daily for about 14 years! - Andrew C (✔)
My birthday is April 19th, so ten days after the announced FF shutdown. Let's all wish me happy birthday before then!

Looks like the outage also took down Advanced Tweets' importing into FF.
or perhaps it was deliberate. - Big Joe Silenced
Aw, Advanced Tweets is back up, but my twitter account has been disconnected from AT and I can't authorize it to work with AT again. - Andrew C (✔)
Kinda hoping for a FF miracle. What with firefox's autocomplete, I've been doing Ctrl-T, "fr" and having it auto-complete to Friendfeed every day for years now. Gonna take a long time to unlearn that muscle memory.
Realistically, there were really only so many Google social media initiatives that Friendfeed could outlast. =(

Oh, and meetups! I'm gonna be in LA for nine straight Saturdays starting this one (March 14), plus two will be longer stays - I think one in April will be Sat and Sun (edit: Easter weekend), and May will be a four day trip starting Thursday the 7th. - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
OK, well, I'll be here till at least late on the 8th, and then a last-minute scrape/extract of the last few weeks, and then I'll try to just move to Frenf.it. - Andrew C (see frenf.it)

Here is a paper towel dispenser in the washrooms at Moscone Center. Seen to either side are sinks. Wave your hand in front of the sensor to dispense paper towels without touching it … and if you’re not careful to catch the paper immediately, it will land right on the counter and get soaking wet. - http://f---nobaddesign.tumblr.com/post...

Chili-garlic oil.
Minced garlic, ginger, shallot, plus Sichuan peppercorns, minced Thai red peppers, minced habanero peppers, and a big pinch each of pimenton (essentially smoked paprika) and Korean chili powder, simmered for 15 minutes over very low heat. - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
Then I strained it through a strainer lined with a coffee filter, and added a dash of roasted sesame oil at the end. - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
The strained stuff looked pretty good, though, so I put that in a second jar, poured a little oil to cover over that, heated it briefly in the microwave, then added a small pinch of salt and roasted sesame oil. - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
Internet says the submerged garlic in oil should be kept in the fridge at all times (I put it in right away) and even so, should be used within a week. =( - Andrew C (see frenf.it)
