nope. I've considered it at times, but right now I'm not sure it's worth it for me.
- ellbeecee
Yep.
- Akiva
Akiva, what would you say are the benefits to having one? Any drawbacks?
- Ell Bee, See?
The slight profile is one. The quick boot and return-from-sleep is another. If what you do on your laptop on a daily basis has nothing to do with 3D graphics, then an MBA is the obvious option.
- Akiva
Drawbacks? Not many as long as you can live without a CD-R.
- Akiva
Masters or MacBook? :D
- Not LB (or ellbeecee)
Yeah, I immediately assumed you were talking about a Masters in Business Administration. I'm now assuming you're talking about a computer, instead, though.

Um, yeah, I meant the Master's in Business Administration. Sorry. I'm not a Mac person, so I didn't realize that was an abbreviation for such things. Curious about the merits of the degree.
- Ell Bee, See?
Well goddammit. [throws papers around, leaves in a hurry]
- Akiva
I was trying to figure out quick boot and return from sleep as benefits of degree :)
- Christina Pikas
Yes.

Sorry, I do NOT have a Macbook Air.
- Jim #teamFFrank
Nope. 2 Bachelors but no Masters.

I got most of the way through an MBA back in my late 20's and then realized that they no longer have the weight that they once did and stopped to save my sanity and my money. At no point in my career has anyone told me that finishing my MBA would make any difference.

Those who have said degree or took some classes: what was your toughest class? Did you take business classes as an undergrad?
- Ell Bee, See?
The toughest class was something called "Interfunctional Management," in which we were contracted out as consultants to an actual client. We had to put together a proposal for them and present it to them. Our client was a division of Exxon that made engine additives.

I only took two business classes as an undergrad, both in senior year as I was making the decision to get an MBA.

As to its usefulness, look where it got me. Although I will say that what I learned in business school was much more useful to me in ministry than it ever was when I worked in advertising in NYC.

I didn't really find any of the classes tough. Many of them were just dull, and so to that extent they were harder only because I had to force myself through them. I had a few business classes during that undergrad (B.A. Managerial Accounting) but nothing that I recall directly.
