I've had it up to here, there, and EVERYWHERE with music licensing organizations =/ With that said: any of my FFeps have any original music of a punky/rocky/awesome nature that they'd grant us rights to play in public for our home bouts? We'll put you in the program under under the music credits section...

If you don't get any response, try checking out/contacting Fixt Records. It's an electronic/industrial record label that freely allows buyers to use much of the music they sell for online items (podcasts, YouTube videos, etc.); and I'll bet they'd be willing (Jimmy Rhodes and/or Klayton) to let you use something for your bouts.

Thanks for the tip! When we host an event we've got music going to 4 hours (or longer if we run it during setup) so it would be nice to have a variety from people who actually want and need some exposure.

I'll check with my co-conspirators, but I might be able to hook you up with our album, some of which is rocky.

WOOHOO! The best way to describe what we're looking for is probably energetic. You know, something that will make ladies want to skate fast and hit hard =D

hehe, I think we might have something for you :)

Jonathon Coulton music is creative commons licensed. I can give you a list and links to the more rock style stuff he does if this is what you are looking for. Do you want music of people you know or are you just looking for music that is more open and light on restrictions?
- Rachel Lea Fox
Open and "makes me want to skate" are really the only requirements here.

Off the top of my head I would look at Mr. Fancy Pants: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/songdet..., I Feel Fantastic: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/songdet... and Tom Cruise Crazy: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/songdet... If you can't find where to download the songs on the individual pages here is the full listing of songs that I know you can download these songs from: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/store...

Thanks Rachel!

Thanks! I think Sunday will be my day to rock out to all these and send out contacts. All whilst drinking boatloads of coffee and wearing comfy pants: the most perfect Sunday ever!

Tina - If you decide to look at anything from Fixt, I'd recommend checking out Blue Stahli, Celldweller and Atlas Plug, Squarehead, Voicians and Subkulture as a start. AFAIK, all of their stuff (with the possible exception of some of Squarehead's stuff) is considered "Podsafe", so it'd probably be pretty easy to get permission to use their stuff for your purpose. You can preview all of the music on their website, and there's usually a decent amount of free stuff you can pick up from their website, as well.
