My job is getting more and more mouse intensive: I have had cramps in my right hand for 2 weeks now. Today I finally said FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUuuuuu and dropped stupid money on a better mouse over my lunch break. I should be able to claim this as a preventative care medical expense, right? =D

I spent way more money than they'd be willing to cover. WAY MORE. Technically speaking I spent way more money that *I* was willing to cover but I decided Uber Mouse would be my celebration for the new pay grade.

Boss came back and asked what the box on my desk was. Told him I bought a mouse over lunch and he said I should've just had them order one for me. Then he saw the mouse I bought and promptly said I was right, they wouldn't have gotten one this nice for me. Que sera, sera: me and my Uber Mouse are already quite happy together!

$80 is really not that out of control for an ergonomic mouse. I'm really surprised your company wasn't willing to cover it. If you asked for an ergo chair or ergo keyboard tray, they would be obligated to provide them and they cost much more than your mouse cost.
