One of the problems I have is that I put our birth certificates and our social security cards together in a safe place, so safe I haven't been able to find them in more than 2 years.

That's been plenty of time to replace them, but of course I haven't & now I have to scramble to get them all so I can apply for the last 2 bedroom unit at a certain bldg. Arghh Queen of the Last Minute ain't such a heady title.

I will have to catch BART & MUNI to get mine in San Francisco, Jayden's is just down by Lake Merritt. I should do both Monday, huh? One long adventure on public transportation. Lord I hope my leg's able to stand it (har har).

I hope your health holds out and that they can turn around the paperwork for you fast enough.

Birth certificates cost hella much now. $25 for SF county, $30 for Alameda. Dang.

Website says SF office averages 20 min wait for documents, and I know Oakland office is near the same. A fraction of the travel time :-)

& even if someone else gets that particular unit before I can gather everything I need, it's pretty vital stuff so it wouldn't be a waste of a day.

I was in a similar situation a few years ago. the SS cards was the worst. We were in the office for nearly 5 hours! I hope you can get it all done in one day.

Prolly have to go to SSA Tuesday, lol that'll be too much for one day for me!

I'm going to begin packing this weekend. I was going to start with kitchen stuff we don't need but I'ma start with my bedroom closet, which serves as our linen closet/coat closet/supply closet, lol. It's the most likely culprit to be hiding those documents, so maybe I'll come across them before Monday, that'd be awesome.

Fingers crossed!

One of the greatest tips I can give to anyone packing for a move: Wrap your breakables in the fabrics things you own. It's faster packing than using newspaper, takes up less space overall, and your stuff won't be all dirty when you unpack. Example: Wrapping dishes & nicknacks in towels, curtains, & t-shirts. ;)
