Busted my bum last night at the party. Nearly everyone there remarked on what a great job I was doing, at least three folks want to hire me when they have their next party (mostly joking I think), one inebriated fellow wanted to divorce his wife and take me home, and the hostess was so happy she doubled her offer...$200!
Told the drunk dude I don't clean my own house and I darn sure wasn't going to clean his (we were joking...he was funny) - Shannon - GlassMistress
just for future reference: I met with an event guy to scope out options for work. He's a brand new official self-proprietor so I thought establishing a relationship could mean work for him and a price break for us since he's starting out. Day-of on-site management = $250. Prep in planning and day-of coordination = $500 w/ half upfront. And I will gladly pay it for an event that needs to go off without a hitch. Wish I had it for the big to-do coming up this week. - t-ra: sentimental gorgon
I was more of a bus-boy, tray runner combo. I cooked rice, and pulled things from the stove and oven on time but did no prep. I assembled a few trays - cheese and veggie, and kept the platters full. Washed a ton of coffee mugs as the hostess wanted to serve chowder in her mug collection ... 10 mugs for 60 folks, lol. All in all it was 5 hours of my time and I was offered all the food and drink I wanted (too busy to partake) and she sent me home with cake...win win ;-) - Shannon - GlassMistress
