"I use a shock mount and a boom mic stand for my AT2020USB. I then run the mic through Adobe Audition, via virtual audio cables, to change the EQ of the mic and to reduce background noise. The result is a great sounding mic that doesn't have a lot of background interference. I highly suggest getting a mic stand and to not using the one that comes with the mic."

"I wonder if the CFR setting is elsewhere in the Mac version of obs? Maybe there's a workaround of sorts? Might wanna try the obs irc chat or forum for help."

"What software are you using to stream? I sometimes have this issue and the way I've fixed it is by enabling "Use CFR" in OBS's advanced video settings, and by adding the custom x264 setting "level=4". I've especially found that "Use CFR" does the trick and should make the stream show up on mobile. You can double-check to see if it's viewable on mobile by going to your Twitch dashboard and making sure the page says your stream is "Excellent". If your stream appears as offline, or it doesn't have a quality rating, then it's probably not viewable on Mobile. This is a known issue on Twitch and seems to be due to certain x264 settings. The above kind of forces or makes sure that OBS streams in a format that works for mobile. Source: http://help.twitch.tv/custome..."

"Where I live, 70k is okay but not great. But I live in the SF Bay Area which has insane cost of living and apartments cost $3k a month. If I was back home in Ohio, 70k would be a ton! But here it's not :P . That's why I talked about cost of living and how people make it work."

"The number of people that are making "okay" money (like 70k a year) are very, very few. That means they would have a few thousand subscribers and several hundred thousand followers. They would also be getting a lot of donations too. That's really hard and takes years to get to. From what I can tell, most people that Twitch stream live in areas with very low cost of living. They also often have some other supplemental income, usually through a supportive spouse or family member who has a full time job. Those that do do it solo again, often live in relatively cheap areas of the country. If they don't have additional support, they usually have gigs outside of streaming that involve twitch and their personal following. That again would require a huge following that brands are willing to pay for...so we're talking hundreds of thousands or millions of followers/YouTube subs. It's not impossible to make money on twitch but it's also not very easy. It takes a lot of hard work, luck, great..."

"This varies a lot by streamer and by game. In the comments we see folks that stream Clash of Clans and Pokemon and they've got extremely high/fast growth, which I believe is because those games seem to gather lots of viewers and have very few streamers (probably due to the equipment investment needed to stream them). It's a fruitful niche. That said, this is me: http://socialblade.com/twitch... Total followers as of today: 349 Streaming for: Roughly 2 months (since Mid Aug) Schedule: MTTF - 3 hrs at night (with occasional other days/weekends) Followers per month: lately it's been 150 Games: Mostly PVZ: Garden Warfare but I've also spent time with Shadow of Mordor, Destiny and a little bit of time w/ Papers Please, Titanfall and some others."

"My viewers like it because it makes them feel like I saw their comments. It can also be a cue to them to show when I saw a comment (basically a visual representation of the video lag). It's also great for VODs, since it's hard to watch VODs and see a dude responding to stuff and you have no idea what he's talking about."
