"The number of people that are making "okay" money (like 70k a year) are very, very few. That means they would have a few thousand subscribers and several hundred thousand followers. They would also be getting a lot of donations too. That's really hard and takes years to get to. From what I can tell, most people that Twitch stream live in areas with very low cost of living. They also often have some other supplemental income, usually through a supportive spouse or family member who has a full time job. Those that do do it solo again, often live in relatively cheap areas of the country. If they don't have additional support, they usually have gigs outside of streaming that involve twitch and their personal following. That again would require a huge following that brands are willing to pay for...so we're talking hundreds of thousands or millions of followers/YouTube subs. It's not impossible to make money on twitch but it's also not very easy. It takes a lot of hard work, luck, great..."
