"What are the ethics in creating an application for the AppStore, charging money for it, and then abandoning it’s development, but still charging for an application that has known bugs?" and "The second thing that’s really starting to annoy me is that iPhone developers are lambasting the AppStore process in public forums, without thinking about how consumers feel. There’s a key difference between developing for a desktop platform and a mobile device, and I think it’s about time we actually talk about them. Developers need to realize that consumers approach mobile applications in a very different way than they approach desktop applications. They need to develop accordingly, instead of whining and complaining about how Apple has created a closed system"

may I point out this as just 1 of the examples as to why developers are bitching about the way apple is handling iphone app submissions http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009... Apple are really causing many of the problems you're complaining about. Many developers are seeing their app submissions being delayed and/or rejected with zero feedback from Apple. Some apps are being pulled due to bigger companies demanding it because they don't want the competition for their own app (whitness the debacle surrounding the ipint for this!). Sometimes, there's a reason why the developers are bitching in public, in this case it's cause Apple are being unreasonable and punishing people for objecting to their methodologies and madness. No smoke without fire n all that.

AHA! I knew I smelled open source. DO NOT allow these people near any sort of usability or design problem. They will throw in more ugly buttons EVERY TIME!

I always thought it should read "think differently" but they were probably thinking differently which is why it's called "think different".
