IE9 has HW accelerated SVG, but no <canvas>? I don't get it. Canvas is very easy and straightforward to implement.
My son loved the London Science Museum, the first floor is like visiting a Steampunk novel, giant steam engines, the Difference Engine, the Analytical Engine, various kinds of steam driven differential equation solvers, dividers, multipliers.

I've never seen it explained why HTML5 canvas measureText() can only measure width, and not height, or baseline, ascent, descent, or the usual values that Windows, OSX, Linux, Java2D, and most platforms support. The method is practically useless for laying out text properly,

CNBC called them trains to no-where. Umm? So San Francisco, LA, Anaheim/San Diego are no where? And $42 billion for the route is on par with the cost of building OAK, SFO, SJC, LAX, SAN. I just don't understand how the mere mention of train travel causes a lapse of rationality in some people.

Airports and Trains are both government build-outs and I guess airlines pay some usage fees (landing rights) but probably never equal to the cost of the planes.. but of course airports help make Boeing in business.

Hmm. Didn't seem to work. I haven't got webGL working beyond simple experimentation with WebGL arrays in any browser ever, to be honest. :)

No actual 15 year old girl was involved, he allegedly just exposed himself in a webcam for a police woman posing as a 15 year old, and for that, go to jail for 7 years?
The nature of these pedophile stings kind of bother me slightly. As a parent, I worry about pedophiles, but if someone performs cybersex with an adult, who lies about their age and says they're 15 years old, how can you throw someone in jail for 7 years for that? The crime only happened in the mind of the perp. Does that mean people who consume "barely legal" porn in which adult actresses pretend to be borderline illegal are all guilty?

Scratch that, this seems like a pattern. Scott Ritter was caught before trying to arrange, and showing up at, a physical meeting with a "16 year old" in 2001. The first case was dismissed, but the fact that he is up to it again shows he can't really help himself (wouldn't you quit after having had a case dismissed, almost being sent to jail?). These kind of stings still make me feel uneasy since the police are essentially going online and trying to seduce people, preying on their weaknesses.

I guess Firefox really is going to have to work out some way to get H.264 <video> decoding in (as opposed to the vorbis decoding in CPU), because it's going to rapidly appear slow & battery heavy compared to browsers that can take advantage of this.
