AFP: Getting tourists to walk the Obama walk - http://www.google.com/hostedn...
People who walk the Obama walk, which is posted on the website of Destination DC, Washington's tourism office, will take in restaurants, theaters, shops and cultural and historical sites that the Obamas have either visited since they arrived in Washington in January or that are linked in some other way to the first family. The itinerary is not exhaustive -- the Obamas do get out a lot -- and it's heavy with culinary establishments, including Ben's Chili Bowl on U Street, where president-elect Obama ate with Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty, days ahead of his swearing-in on January 20. For those unable or unwilling to walk the walk, Ben's has added a "Barack Obama" link to its website which opens up a video of the visit. Then there's the upscale Equinox restaurant, where Barack and Michelle Obama dined on her birthday on January 17; the Marvin Restaurant and Lounge, named for Washington native Marvin Gaye and known for the huge Obama mural on the side of the building; and Georgia Brown's, where Michelle and J - Adriana
The Raw Story » Mexican president: US authorities ‘complicit’ in drug trafficking - http://rawstory.com/blog...
WATCH VIDEO The President of Mexico has an unfortunate message for Americans still ignorant of the Drug War's cold realities: Some of your politicians are involved. Yes folks, it is long-past time to start thinking about alternative strategies for combating both the harmful effects of drug addiction and the deadly effects of forcing an economy outside of the law. "It is impossible to pass tons of drugs and cocaine to U.S. without some great complicity of some American authorities," said Mexican President Felipe Calderone. "There is traffic in Mexico because there is corruption in Mexico. And that is true. But with the same argument, if there is traffic in United States, it is because there is some corruption in United States." Calderone's comments come at 3:01 in the following video. - Adriana

Sarah Palin Lashes Out at Levi Johnston for Sex Talk on Tyra - Sarah Palin : People.com - http://www.people.com/people...
"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship," says the statement from the Palin family rep. "Bristol's focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence," the statement continues. "It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child." - Adriana
I agree with Kevin, Dawn. The problem is not Sara Palin's daughter. She is a teen, she is young, she is learning and growing and developing into a woman. She made a mistake. But the thing is this...Sara Palin cannot say Levi is engaging in gross, flat our lies and exaggeration. She wasn't in the bedroom with them. What he said was that some times they used protections and others they did not. It isn't an exaggeration because her child did in fact get pregnant. As for advocating abstinence, i don't think anyone would have a problem with her advocating this. That is up to each individual and anyone that would find a problem with it would simply be ridiculous. - Adriana
Facebook, YouTube at work make better employees: study - http://us.mobile.reuters.com/m...
"MELBOURNE (Reuters Life!) - Caught Twittering or on Facebook at work? It'll make you a better employee, according to an Australian study that shows surfing the Internet for fun during office hours increases productivity. The University of Melbourne study showed that people who use the Internet for personal reasons at work are about 9 percent more productive that those who do not. Study author Brent Coker, from the department of management and marketing, said "workplace Internet leisure browsing," or WILB, helped to sharpened workers' concentration. "People need to zone out for a bit to get back their concentration," Coker said on the university's website (www.unimelb.edu.au/) "Short and unobtrusive breaks, such as a quick surf of the Internet, enables the mind to rest itself, leading to a higher total net concentration for a days' work, and as a result, increased productivity," he said." - Adriana

McDonald's Moves Closer to Pesticide-Free French Fries | Sustainability | Fast Company - http://www.fastcompany.com/blog...
McDonald's french fries are crunchy, delightfully salty, and covered in pesticides. That last point may not be true for much longer now that the company has agreed to survey and promote best practices in potato pesticide use reduction. McDonald's Corp., the largest purchaser of potatoes in the U.S., will disclose its findings to shareholders and in its annual corporate social responsibility report. Since McDonald's doesn't grow its own potatoes, the company will ask suppliers like ConAgra and J.R. Simplot to cut down pesticide use. And since ConAgra and J.R. Simplot also supply potatoes to other companies, McDonald's will succeed in shaking up the entire potato supply chain. Imagine the positive repercussions if it did the same thing for, say, tomatoes. Next up for MickeyD's: spearheading a better-beef coalition along with Cargill, Wal-Mart, and trade and environmental groups. The company already buys stock from sustainable fisheries and recycles 100% of its frying oil in the U.K. into biodiesel. Wheth - Adriana

Is Twitter's breakneck growth causing a backlash? - CNN.com - http://www.cnn.com/2009...
The icon -- which Twitter users call it the "fail whale" because the creature appears only when the site has failed to load -- has gained a cult following as the social media site grows at breakneck pace. The conversational Web site, which lets users post 140-character microblogs, saw a 1,374 percent jump in unique visitors between February 2008 and February this year, up to 7 million from only 475,000, according to Nielsen NetView. By comparison, Facebook grew 228 percent, to 65.7 million users, during the same period. - Adriana
