I was actually defending an OP in a very civil manner (no, honestly; I really was) and a woman showed up and said that me and others who were defending the OP were bashing all the people who were criticizing the person. I pointed out that disagreeing and bashing were not the same thing and she'd know when I was actually bashing her. At which point her and a couple other harpies shrieked that I was threatening them and proceeded to make a big production out of blocking me. :)

With many of her "friends" it doesn't take much. Bunch of over sensitive motherfuckers.

OMG, like full-on Cornholio "ARE YOU THREATENING ME?!?"
- Jennifer Dittrich
Wow.
- vicster.
Drama Llama and her Pissy Posse?
- CAJ was here
Almost exactly Cornholio. The one woman literally said "OMG Is that a THREAT? Have you THREATENED ME?!" I admit I choked on my coffee when I read that. :)
- Hookuh Tinypants
Sounded more like a promise to me. :D
- CAJ was here
See, that's what I thought. :D
- Hookuh Tinypants
Good grief Hookuh, you can't go around defending people! What were you thinking??!

The OP was a woman sharing a cheeky text convo between her and her 15yr old son that included him using the F-word several times. The focus of the text was that he said "Don't fucking gossip about me to your jogger friends" and she responded "You know I hate when you use that language! I'm a RUNNER, not a jogger." And then after the first couple of people who commented how funny it was, along came the stream of people judging her for being a bad parent because her child cussed. So I and others stepped in to say that we can't really judge her parenting or her child based on a snippet of text, regardless of whether we agree with the kid's language or not. That's where it kind of went downhill. The woman who blocked me was upset because she said the child needed "a solid beating" and I said "Wait...so beating = good parenting while F-bomb = bad parenting? I don't follow the logic. I think we need to take this with a grain of salt." After which she accused me and others of bashing, and then. Y'know. Block.

That escalated quickly

Right? Just weirdness all around. I really do empathize with parents in the internet age. Criticism of parents was bad enough back in the day but nowadays every Tom, Dick, and Harry feels the need to weigh in anytime you make the mistake of sharing any tiny snippet of info about yourself and your family on the internet. It's just...y'know...a cussing kid isn't what's wrong with the world today. It's so much bigger than that. Parents deserve so much credit for doing the hardest job in the universe.

My response to critics of my parenting style "you parent your kids and I'll parent mine" Deep in my heart I know that their loser kid will be working for my awesome one some day.

You gotta wonder how fragile these folks are if they feel that is s threat and if that is how they react to a "threat" ON THE INTERNET. Not even really the Internet, but FB.

Man, I feel you. I get called a troll because I state a fact or a different viewpoint. I mean, the other day, I said I hated the way they dressed an actress in a show and was told to go troll somewhere else for that one sentence out of 6 sentences, where the other 5 were how much I liked the show. Internet people are fragile.

bunch a fucking babies make up the internet.

It's really weird. I mean, I get going through a period of adjusting to the Internet being able to tell you you're wrong and stupid and to go fuck yourself. But once you realize that the rude opinions of strangers have zero bearing on your life and who you are as a person, you move on and function happily. I can't imagine just sitting on the internet taking offense to strangers all day. My life would be shit.
- Hookuh Tinypants
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That one never gets old. :D Also, this is a close runner up... http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic...

Saving that one for future use. That's tops!
