Maybe. We heard they don't hold up well in very hard water, which we have. We opted for a high efficiency tank model that lets us vent out the side of the house via PVC, which saved us a lot on installation costs compared to running a flue up to the attic.

Yes. I love mine. Takes a while to heat up in the shower, but it will run for ever.

Word of mouth around here is mixed. Have heard reliability and maintenance can be a bigger headache.

I've had both and I'm ambivalent. I never have a blazing urge to have hot water NOW NOW NOW, and I don't use hot water long enough for capacity to be an issue either. It really all depends on your needs and your budget.
