I guess I wasn't clear, I got called for an interview... not offered the job yet. But even that is much more than I expected, which was to never hear from them or get offered a cashier position. At my job fair interview, they said there wouldn't be any more interviews; I suspect they like my application but are concerned about my lack of experience - esp with vegan baking. But now I'll have the chance to flaunt my chemistry background, which does seem relevant.

Great news, Lo. Point out to them that not having experience in baking (vegan) is actually good. No preconceived ideas about how it should be done. This with an obvious desire for learning has got to be a winner.
