My new office is business casual with jeans allowed on Fridays. No sneakers allowed, though. My question is this: would Birkenstocks be considered even more casual than sneakers? I'm thinkin' they would. What about cowboy boots?

My office would say no Birks. A closed-toe sandal is okay. I wear leather shoes with sneaker soles.

I used to work at a place with the same rule. They were fine with Birks as long as you had socks on (they didn't want any exposed foot skin).

You could wear leather flats tomorrow to play it safe and then check out what others are wearing for future reference.

The only real problem is that I gotta be good to my feet the next two days, we've got a bout Saturday and my skates are bad enough when my paws are in good condition. All my happy feet shoes are too casual. My properly casual shoes rub the wrong way. Literally =(
