Why can't we all just get along? We don't all have to like each other, just tolerate each other and respect each other's rights.
Hundreds of Anglicans moving to Catholic church. In other news, numerous Burger King customers switching to McDonalds.
At least when switching restaurants they don't make you wait 40 days before you can get a Big Mac. - Kevin L
Do your bosses expect you to break the law at work? If so, how?

I'd like a double double whopper, extra whoppers please.
"NATO troops who cause civilian casualties — which economists document create new enemies — “feel worse than they can express, and they have to live with that for the rest of their lives.” Oh the poor poor soldiers.
Should "metric" geographic regions, based perhaps on latitude and longitude lines, replace our stupid, senseless current political divisions.
Anyone here familiar with good examples of factional disputes in "left wing" politics?
What I'm looking for is groups that are very similar in belief from the viewpoint of outsiders that don't work together to achieve common ends because all they see is the differences. - Sue - Friendfeed is best
Statists - the guys that, among other things, funded the creation and use of the atom bomb, always mouth off about how much more moral they are than individualists. It would be funny if it weren't so sickening.
Is it surprising that people who don't give a crap about putting other people in jail, forcing them to turn over the fruit of their labor to support processes they find immoral, are able to easily work together to do harm while patting each other on the back about what great guys they are?
Expecting or hoping or trying to get The State to protect the poor from the wealthy is stupid. The State is not going to protect strangers from it's mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, cousins and in-laws.

I don't seem to be getting any responses here.
There doesn't seem be a speck of improvement in the quality of political discussions. Friendfeed users say exactly the same things the kids in my high school 40 years ago said. Discussions of some topics would improve over time because there's been progress in the field under discussion.
Whatever field would discuss "Tell my why economic force isn't coercion" isn't making any progress. - Sue - Friendfeed is best
That people will discuss it without making any attempt to define the terms might have something to do with the lack of progress. - Sue - Friendfeed is best

I think the last movie I saw in a theater was Avatar.
Seems like Gwyneth Paltrow sang at some event years ago and I didn't particularly like her singing then.

Does anyone feel that the line "Great minds discuss ideas. average minds discuss events, small minds discuss people." attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt, is a snotty, arrogant thing to say, is itself a comment about people, and puts down the importance of being a parent and paying attention to and talking about your children?
Also, don't "small minds" discuss ideas? They might not do a good job of it, but that doesn't stop them all from running their mouths, does it? Maybe if the great minds spent more time talking about individual people individual people would get better instead of ideas improving while people keep making the same mistakes over and over. - Sue - Friendfeed is best
Dear Lord, please eliminate the physical world's ability to convey "Sarah Palin" in any form of communication. Thanks. P.S. Also Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Amen from your atheist buddy, Sue.

There's New York and Chicago pizza... I don't recall any southern pizza. No Atlanta pizza, or Birmingham, or Little Rock pizza, that I know of.

When you "Click Here" to post a status message in Seesmic web, the place you enter text isn't "Here", it's below here.No need. Annoying.
Seesmic can't display my lists properly, it just shows the rotating swirl in many places.

Arguing counterfactual histories. You know the thinking process has gone astray when that's the best people can come up. "Thank goodness for [some historical event], if it weren't for [that historical event] then we wouldn't have [something wonderful] but instead we'd have [something terrible].
