CSI has got to be the worst for this, they take it to a level of ridiculousness way too often. I saw a joke once about a CSI team enhancing the image of a person as reflected in a screw on a licence plate. It was funny because it actually seemed like something they'd do on the show!

Interesting that he sued a toilet paper company over using a similar tiling. "When it comes to the population of Great Britain being invited by a multinational to wipe their bottoms on what appears to be the work of a Knight of the Realm without his permission, then a last stand must be taken" http://stefangeens.com/2002... Yeah, I'd heard about this. I actually mentioned it in my comment on Google Reader, but FriendFeed doesn't copy Google Reader comments. Here's my comment from Reader: "I'd thought about doing this, or perhaps getting our driveway paved with Penrose paving stones.
As someone mentions in the comments, Penrose has allegedly sued people in the past for using Penrose tilings (or tilings that are very similar). It makes me wonder if that smile he has in that first photo is because he's thinking about the royalties he's getting for the floor he's standing on."

it's pretty ridiculous that so many companies keep giving you trouble this way. I would not have expected this from Paypal either, since they present themselves as a service for sending money worldwide. I really hope more companies start to realize that many people have relatives in other countries, so it's useful to be able to make online purchases from one country to be shipped to another.
