I mean, yeah, onion, garlic, wine, and the digestive enzymes and stomach acid of cows all have known antibacterial properties, but it also sounds like it would sting like a real bastard. - Victor Ganata

AT&T today launched its gigabit fiber Internet service in parts of Cupertino, California, but the price isn’t as good as it is in cities where AT&T faces competition from Google Fiber. Google Fiber and AT&T’s U-verse with GigaPower compete head-to-head in Kansas City and Austin. In those cities, AT&T matches Google’s $70-per-month price for... - http://jenn2d2.tumblr.com/post...

"Psychological folk art," has to be my favorite quote from "Going Clear" so far.
Finishing this up last night, I can see both why people find it very compelling, and share some of the frustrations I've seen in a few other reviews. It does a good job mucking through the various reasons why people view Scientology as so terrible; you get a variety of stories from people who were involved at various levels, especially close to the top. - Jennifer Dittrich
I really enjoyed the book, but I'd recommend not reading it before going to sleep. I had some disturbing dreams. :-\ - Corinne L

Oh, man. I have no idea who won/lost what, but apparently one of the neighbor kids was /very/ emotionally invested. He's standing outside, full on crying and sobbing about how he can't ever play basketball again (while his older brother is shooting hoops.) Mom is trying to talk him down.
He's probably about 5 or 6, I think. - Jennifer Dittrich
