Yes. It's so stupid. It's just like how I've been saying these white supremacists aren't scared of equality, they're scared they'll be treated like they treat non-whites. It's such and embarrassingly bad argument that you can't help but laugh at them. - Anika

"KissQuest: The Search for Oppa is a massively multiplayer action/romance/strategy/romantic strategy RPG featuring a persistent world where all your favorite Korean drama characters and locations come together in the adventure of a lifetime. Live out your own Korean dramas as you explore the City of Soul and meet (and date!) the unforgettably hot men (“Oppas”) who call it home." - Anika

Actually, more accurately ladies pants without pockets are dumb. If I had pockets, I wouldn't have had to use a dumb purse.
Almost to the checkout stand when I realized I didn't have my card on me. It was in a purse from last night. This is why purses are dumb.

Ooh, even better poke tacos. Where did I get that? Those were delicious. The wonton shell was perfection.
The first 626 Night Market had poke nachos with fried wonton wrappers as the chips, I believe. I've completely forgotten which restaurant made those. (edit, but a couple of seconds googling, it was probably Cha Cafe.) - Andrew C (✔)
Didn't go to the 1st one and I know for sure I didn't get them at the ones I did attend. Never been to Cha Cafe either. I'm picturing Rosemead or Monterrey Park, but it was most likely somewhere in OC. - Anika

The kids are on board with this. I just don't want to go pick out fish. Right now, I'd prefer to make it with halibut, but the kids want tuna. "We haven't had it in forever!" and "It's spring break, we should get some." are being said. - Anika

I got yellowtail ($3/lb. is a great price!) and I'm so pleased with myself. After years of watching sushi chefs and ahjummas on Korean variety shows, I got the know-how to skin a fish properly. The family loved it. - Anika
We're in the US where beef prices are relatively low. In MO & ME, beef prices are considerably lower than here in LA. They're just hateful.
What's it to me if someone on welfare has steak? Steak is good. Everyone who wants steak once in a while should be able to have it.

LRT a similar thing happened to a friend of mine in college. Only, he didn't know he was adopted until he got into trouble.
Similar - a family friend's ex-husband failed to file a bunch of their paperwork, and then lied about it. She had to sort it out years later when she went to get her daughter's social security card. They were lucky they found out then, but it still took ages to sort out. - Jennifer Dittrich

We Need More Black Librarians - http://www.forharriet.com/2015...
"Brown has attended career fairs locally and nationally trying to recruit more African-Americans. “With all the technology we have now, the face of libraries is changing,” she said. “They’re not just places where people check out books; it’s becoming more appealing to the community and newer populations of individuals.” Nationally, the numbers of black and brown librarians are dismal. A diversity report by the American Library Association,, showed that among a total credentialed library population of 118,666, only 6,160 are black and 3,661 are Latino." - Anika
Too bad becoming a librarian is more of a class thing. I had briefly considered librarianship, then I noted that my friends who were volunteering at libraries and pursuing that path were all from wealthy families. So, for the same reason I couldn't major in architecture, I had to bypass this. Since I was paying out of my own pocket for my education, I just couldn't afford the degrees. The few scholarships available were geared to go to rich white kids. - Anika
I think we need to get the word out more about all the different paths to get to libraries. Not all of it is unpaid volunteering at public libraries, but of course a lot of people assume it is. - kendrak
I don't see where it says 'unpaid volunteering' is a path, let alone the only one. Also, we were all paid volunteers & not everyone volunteered at a public library. What was certain was that I was never going to afford to do the work required for a degree simply because, as I said above, I lacked the support system. At any rate, that doesn't do much to reach outside of white women. Librarians seem to be great at digging up diversity stats, but doing something about it has always seemed a completely different thing. I mean, LAPL doesn't even pay their staff equally and I've watched black librarians quit for new paths over the past 5 years because of it. - Anika
