Focus on the Outcome before Reacting for Better Results - Social - Lifehacker - http://lifehacker.com/5326450...
"According to Harvard Business blog, most of our interactions are governed by a simple event-reaction-outcome chain, where our knee-jerk response leads to an often undesirable outcome. For better results, they propose tweaking your thought chain to focus primarily on the outcome. More simply, "just because the event catalyzed your action, doesn't mean it should determine it. How you react can and should be determined by the outcome; by the future you want to create." - Dan Smith

Apple Claims New iPhone Only Visible To Most Loyal Of Customers | The Onion - America's Finest News Source - http://www.theonion.com/content...
"SAN FRANCISCO—In a move expected to revolutionize the mobile device industry, Apple launched its fastest and most powerful iPhone to date Tuesday, an innovative new model that can only be seen by the company's hippest and most dedicated customers. "I am proud today to introduce to those who really, truly deserve it, our most incredible iPhone yet," announced Apple CEO Steve Jobs, extending his seemingly empty left palm toward the eagerly awaiting crowd. "Not only is this our lightest and slimmest model ever, but as any truly savvy Apple customer can clearly see, it's also the most handsome product we've ever designed." The packed auditorium, which had been listening to Jobs in hushed reverence for several minutes, then erupted into applause, with hundreds of men and women suddenly jumping to their feet and shouting, "I can see it!" "Look, there it is!" and "God, it's so beautiful!"" - Dan Smith

My Dell Inspiron laptop battery does not seem to be charging. In Windows 7, it says that the battery is 27% available (plugged in, charging) but it never charges beyond that. Anyone have any ideas? ioXtreme| The PCI Express Hard Drive - http://techplore.com/technol...
"Enter the ioXtreme. This card holds 80GB of storage (NAND Flash) which is capable of giving you a performance boost that you won’t see by just upgrading your CPU and RAM. Games, large applications like Photoshop and Final Cut will open almost instantaneously. They likened it to bringing up a program that was minimized on your start bar, which is pretty incredible. They even said that it would be possible to boot Windows in just one second. Unfortunately this feature won’t be available at launch, due to them still working out bugs with a few different BIOS, it will however be available via a driver update. The card should be launching later this year for somewhere around $895, though the price is subject to change." - Dan Smith
ioXtreme is the future ; way better than current ssd ; but not enough memory on a card compare to nowadays 1To HDD for ~75-80€ ; maybe for the Operating System partition and important programs (not pictures & movies...). - TiTi
Michael Jackson’s Doctor Admitted To Administering Propofol | Celebrity Gossip And Hollywood Gossip Via Splash Gossip - http://www.splashgossip.com/2009...
"Authorities connected to the Michael Jackson manslaughter investigation have now spoken out anonymously about the reason for why Michael’s personal doctor Conrad Murray had become the center of their investigation. The sources revealed today that Dr. Murray actually admitted to administering the anesthetic Propofol to Michael on the day that he died. Two days after Michael’s death, when he was questioned by authorities, he told them that he hooked Michael up to an IV drip of Propofol and then left the room. When he returned, Michael’s heart had stopped beating. Detectives reportedly believe that Dr. Murray could have fallen asleep after starting Michael on the drip. They also think that Dr. Murray may not have had Michael hooked up to the proper monitors which are designed to sound alarms if a patient’s pulse or blood oxygen saturation levels drop to dangerous levels.  Sources say that no monitoring devices were found in the home." - Dan Smith
Using Google Chrome as a Calculator & Unit Converter - http://techie-buzz.com/how-to...
"But did you know that you can use Google Chrome as a calculator and unit converter? And not just for basic calculations and conversion , but for pretty advanced calculations too? Well you do not have to use any additional extensions or enable additional features to use Google Chrome as a calculator. To perform calculations using Google Chrome, just type the calculation in the Omnibar (address bar) and you should instantly see the result for the calculation in the dropdown with a “=” sign, to copy the answer just scroll down to it and copy it from the Omnibar. Similarly you can also use the Omnibar to perform unit conversions as shown in the screenshot above, once again you can perform both simple and advanced conversions using the Omnibar, copying the answer is similar to how we did it in the calculation above." - Dan Smith

"The HTC Hero has been an object of lust for some time now for gadget enthusiasts. Even from the earliest days of leaked hardware shots and blurry demo videos of its UI, smartphone fans seemed to agree that the company had finally achieved what has been missing in the world of Android. Namely, a polished and attractive device -- polished enough to go head-to-head with the iPhone -- that kept its open source heart. So, here we are months later with an actual, bona fide Hero in our midst. Yes the reports were true, it is a beautiful device, both inside and out (though of course opinions differ on that chin). But does being a beautiful device mean Android is about to move to a bigger stage? Is HTC's spit-shine enough to overcome some of the hurdles that have plagued the platform? That question -- and more -- is answered in the text below, so read on for the full review." - Dan Smith

Tip: Quick site searches with the Omnibox - https://www.google.com/account...
"We recently showcased how the address bar (also affectionately known as the Omnibox) doubles as a search box: simply type a search term in the box and press Enter to see results from your default search engine. Here's another fun fact about the address bar: you can use it to search sites that you've previously visited. Say you frequently go to YouTube to watch funny videos. The next time you need a good laugh, just start typing "youtube" in the address bar. After a few letters, the address bar will automatically offer you the option to search the site." - Dan Smith
Official Gmail Blog: Now displaying images in messages from your contacts - http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2009...
"When an email references external images, Gmail usually doesn't display them automatically. Instead we show placeholders and present you with the option to "Display images below" or "Always display images from" that sender. We do this to help protect your privacy from spammers, who can use images and links to verify that your email address is real. But often the messages you get with images are from friends or family and there's no reason to worry about your privacy — you just want to see the photo of your newborn niece or the invitation design they're sending you. So, in these cases, we've decided to start displaying images by default. Now, whenever someone you've emailed at least twice sends you a message containing images, you'll see them right away." - Dan Smith

A World Without Traffic | Can GPS startup company Waze map the perfect commute? - http://www.thebigmoney.com/article...
""Waze hopes to become a sort of Wikipedia of mapping by creating a community where drivers can edit roads and insert details like street names and construction projects," says John Canali, an analyst at Strategic Analytics. Drivers can report accidents by pressing a button on their mobile-Waze records the location. Users also edit maps online, alerting Waze to deadspots like tunnels and assigning names to previously unmapped streets. Contributors move up in rank and earn map-editing privileges and the right to manage, say, your neighborhood. In Israel, nearly 100,000 people have downloaded the app since January. It speaks to the fact that people will contribute if in return they get free navigation and real-time traffic info. "The genie's out of the bottle. How do you compete with free?" implores Canali. Bardin promises it'll never push ads to their users." - Dan Smith
