"The bruha-ha cracks me up. An evolving form of spirits sounds right fine by me. If I can get a fantastic flavor to savor without having to spend a huge amount isn't that what we're after? When we went from animal skins to wooden barrels I wonder did people go--"NAY I Need my Sheep Skin!" heheh.
There will always be variants to be had. Some may be gained from ancient woods or smoked peats or or or.. I welcome all the variants, lets just stay honest about it. At the end of the day its the quality we perceive and enjoy."
