where in Texas are you? i NEVER see that in the DFW area!

The same reason why people doing 35 mph slow down to get into a turn lane. grrrr

You'd think those "Slower traffic keep right" sings were invisible or something. I just want a snowplow blade on my car. That's all.

San Antonio and Austin areas, the I-35 Death Corridor. Thank God for Tollway 130.

I can't wait til you try driving in ABQ.
- Steven Perez
Clearly, you "because it's the speed limit" people are (a) new to Texas or (b) PART OF THE FREAKING PROBLEM.
- Steven Perez
Why have a speed limit at all? Just make that number the minimum speed.

Hey, Morton figured out driving in Texas! :D

better yet, anywhere in Malaysia.

I was told once that in the areas of Durham, NC near Duke Univ., if you and everyone else in your lane are driving above the speed limit, the police will just start pulling over people in a first-come, first-served basis and ticketing them - it doesn't matter that the entire flow is going the same speed. I don't know if this is true in Texas where you are... but an enforcement pattern like that would certainly motivate me to drive the speed limit regardless of which lane I was in.

I always move back to the right as soon as it safe to do so. I don't play policeman. If you want to go at 90 in a 60 zone, that's your lookout. I'm not going to sit in the left-hand lane at speed limit to block you from doing that. My #1 concern is always to drive safely. However, if I am inthe left-hand lane at speed limit as I am passing slower moving vehicles to my right, and you come up behind me at 90mph, you're gonna have to slow down behind me until I complete my move, and get out of your way, which I will do as soon as safely possible.

BTW, I'd be quite happy on a dry sunny day on a good road to drive at 90mph, but I don't want to pay those huge fines, as I pay enough taxes already thank you, so I'll stick to the speed limit or no more than 5-6 mph over, thank you. You're welcome to contribute the extra revenue if you wish.

Morton, your suggestion is was like what our driver in Jamaica implied. When I asked him the speed limit, he pretty much stated that posted signs were suggestions.
- Anika
Because it's expensive. Driving faster wastes gas and those tickets are expensive and there are a LOT of cops out on Texas roads.
- Josh Haley
i once drove through Oklahoma going 85mph at 2am in the morning. that's about the only way you can get away with it.

Morons strike again. I JUST WANT TO GET HOME! And this time they're doing 65 mph in the 75 mph zone, even in the left lane!>!>!> Now what?
