Sunday afternoon I took Duncan (dog) out to the driveway to clip his nails. He HATES having it done and it is usually a little stressful but I've found the neighborhood goings on are so interesting that he will often ignore what I'm doing to watch everything else. We were on the last foot, he was starting to stress and I was concentrating...
... on his foot when a young Viszla appeared out of no where. Dunc did not take it well and snarled and lunged and the young fellow retreated to the yard as his owner stopped his bike in the driveway and called him. Packer - the Viszla - tried to make friendly with Dunc again and again Dunc acted like a jerk. I suspect his attitude was a combination of me being on the ground and 'needing protection', the surprise appearance of the dog and the stress of having his nails clipped ... or maybe he just wasn't in the mood, who knows. Either way Packer's owner delivered a few choice phrases about me needing to socialize Dunc better (which IS true) and that I'd better keep hold of his leash. - Shannon - GlassMistress
All of which made me a little grrr. sigh - Shannon - GlassMistress
boo. I hate it when people feel the need to advise others on pets or children (or anything really) based on a single incident or interaction. who knows what the situation might be? so lame. sorry it was so stressful. - t-ra: sentimental gorgon
People are funny. His dog was off lead, in MY yard and its my fault my dog wasn't happy about it. Shrug, whatcha gonna do? - Shannon - GlassMistress
Hate it when people try to lecture me. I'm a grown woman, I got this. Shut up. - Starmama
