"Southwest Airlines is planning to outfit four aircraft with Wi-Fi access for passengers by early March. The airline said the service, which is based on Row 44's satellite technology, will be free during a trial period."
- Karen Padham Taylor
Actually it was ready to go several years ago, the airlines rejected it - why because the business travelers who account for the majority of profit for an airline hate the idea. When you travel 90% of the time, that airplane ride is your one chance to escape work. SWA has no business travelers. Others have WiFi too and others will follow but we had it ready about 6 years ago.

So have business types disappeared in the last 6 years or have they decided to work harder?
- Antonio Piccolboni
With the economy as it is lately, business types probably want to work more during long flights in order to keep their daily productivity up and hopefully avoid getting canned.

As long as no one can reach me by phone, it sounds like heaven. Also, as long as there are outlets.
