TurboTax TOC - "Any users suspected of having information which involves fraud, embezzlement, money laundering, insider trading, support for terrorism, or any other activity proscribed by law may have their accounts terminated, their financial data erased, and they also may be reported to law enforcement officials in the appropriate jurisdictions."
Although I wouldn't bet the farm on it, I'm pretty sure that information discovered that way would be inadmissible, and Intuit would be held criminally liable. "IRC Section 7216 makes it a misdemeanor for any tax return preparer to release any tax information obtained or generated in the course of a preparer-client relationship, unless the preparer has express client consent, or a court order has been issued. Violation of this rule is subject to a fine or imprisonment or both." (c.f. http://www.irs.gov/efile...) - Mark Trapp
On the other hand, Intuint makes great effort in the TOC to say that they are not giving any kind of tax advice. - τorƍue
