"No. You can only plug a flash drive into that USB port." - Ill-informed Best Buy Employee
m9m and I were shopping for someone's present yesterday. It's a tablet with a snap-on keyboard. I asked if a different keyboard could be attached if the giftee found the keyboard it comes with too small. "No. You need a USB port for that." he said. I pointed to the one on the keyboard dock. "Like this one?" "No," he said. "You can only plug a flash drive into that USB port." I blinked. "Right. So I couldn't even put a mouse there either." "No." he said. - Nine DataAngel Ferdinand
He was CERTAIN that there was no way to use a different keyboard or a mouse with the tablet. So today, just to double-check (because not all the information was there at the store), I reread the specs. The tablet is Bluetooth-enabled, so a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse would work. As well as, y'know. Plugging into the USB port. Like a normal person. A keyboard can also be plugged directly into the tablet itself, too. - Nine DataAngel Ferdinand
Well, at first they couldn't turn on the demo model. Then they were out of stock. Then I tried to have one delivered. Putting my information into the computer took 3 guys. At that point I canceled the order. So glad I hadn't offered them my credit card yet. Even I could see that the guy was clueless. - m9m, Crone of FriendFeed
And Dick wonders why I don't consider the Best Buy in Palmdale an acceptable substitute for a Micro Center, Fry's or Egghead. We have a Micro Center ten minutes from our house here in STL, but in CA, I'll drive to Santa Clarita or Burbank or wherever. Or settle for Radio Shack. Clearly Best Buy is not worthy. :-p - Mary B: #TeamMonique
Mary - that's the biggest reason I always preferred Circuit City over Best Buy. CC always seemed to employ people that actually knee what they were doing. I've found a similar dynamic between Lowe's and Home Depot, but that seems to switch back and forth depending on where you are - COMPLICATED MR. NOODLE
