https://www.facebook.com/RobertS... My brother is absolutely right on this one. The Tea Party extremists are seriously hurting this country and for what?
Random comment to that post: "Obama, being a community organizer, did not run the federal budget process according to law, like a chief executive would, but instead purposely took us to the brink to ram his gross overspending through. His punitive shutdown is insubordination all too familiar to people who have ever tried to control expenses." FFS, really? Really?

The monied class, Wall Street and the Banksters will find out soon if Ted Cruz or Elizabeth Warren is a better Senator for Wall Street. Post shutdown I'm 60-40 that we are going to default. The Tea Parties last battle will be ruinous for all of us

When your schtick is based on being extreme your only option is to become more and more extreme. This will be difficult to top.

Today's AP poll find more than 4 in 10 Republicans polled identify with and support the Tea Party. That is a significant number. Don't approach them like they are a small group of radicals. They may be a minority in Congress, but they still have broad support.

Considering, though, that only 22% of Americans self-identify unequivocally as Republican, 40% of 22% is a very small minority keeping the rest of us hostage. Even if you include all the people who lean Republican, that's still only 40% of 41%. http://www.gallup.com/poll...

I think Lessig calls this the tyranny of the minority.

This is pretty much the factional scenario Madison was trying to avoid. Ah well, it worked for a couple of centuries, at least.

I'm sorry, Eric, but when your political stance makes a federal default ok, you are an extremist. Period.
