" In a highly unusual move, US President Barack Obama retook the oath of office from Chief Justice John Roberts after stumbling when he originally swore-in to become the 44th US president on Tuesday.
The president retook the oath in the Map Room of the White House one day after his inauguration at the US Capitol.
"Are you ready to take the oath?" Roberts asked him.
"I am, and we're going to do it very slowly," Obama said, reciting the oath flawlessly and taking 25 seconds."

Unusual, but not unprecedented. Chester A. Arthur and Calvin Coolidge both took the oath twice.

Wow, really? Well, I love that Obama's a pragmatist: if this has any chance of being a problem, just re-do it regardless of pride, etc.

"an abundance of caution..." - i love that term.

The article is incorrect. Roberts stumbled. Obama corrected him. To afp's credit, at the time I thought it ws Obama who stumbled too.

Actually I'm wrong too: Obama didn't really fix Roberts' error. He paused to let Roberts fix the error, but when Roberts again repeated the incorrect oath, Obama repeated it after him.
