"The Nevada Assembly voted to approve a bill that bans motorists from cell phone use and texting while driving. Lawmakers in Carson City approved the bill yesterday in a 24 - 17 vote without any debate. Hands - free cell phone devices that permit motorists to keep both hands on the wheel are still allowed within the bill's guidelines." - Jenny
"Upon final Senate approval, the law would be enacted on July 1, 2011. Law enforcement officers , however, are only permitted to give warnings throughout the remainder of the year. In 2012, violators would be cited for a misdemeanor and fined $50 on first offenses, $100 on second offenses, and $250 for the third and subsequent infractions. Driver's licenses could be suspended on the third or subsequent violations." - Jenny
