In some places, water tables have dropped 50 feet or more in just a few years. With less underground water to buoy it, the land surface is sinking as much as a foot a year in spots, causing roads to buckle and bridges to crack. Shallow wells have run dry, depriving several poor communities of water. Scientists say some of the underground... - http://jenn2d2.tumblr.com/post...
Apparently since switching up my shampoo, my hair has been growing like a weed. My stylist was just shocked at how much she had to cut off this time. My hair tends to grow fast anyway, but this was a bit crazy.
Whoa. What are you using now? - Corinne L
Yeah, I've seen some of those (I've also seen a lot of astro-turf comments about it on product pages, so I weigh both sides of that.) Using it, I can see how people might run into problems - it takes a while to properly rinse out, and any sort of conditioner is likely to build up if you don't rinse thoroughly enough. The infomercials make it sound like you should leave it on your head for hours and use half of a bottle, which are probably both bad ideas. - Jennifer Dittrich

mediumaevum: No Easter story is complete without mention of eggs. Even in medieval times, they were an integral part of the day. Children took eggs to church to be blessed, tenants brought eggs to their lords (a hen tithe so to speak), and kings dispensed gilded eggs to their underlings and favorites. Records survive of the Countess of Leicester... - http://jenn2d2.tumblr.com/post...

Under labor law, employees that do not pay dues enjoy the same wages, benefits, and protections as those who do. A labor union that discriminates against someone covered by the contract (and who doesn’t pay dues) is liable to a “duty of fair representation” lawsuit. Corporations call these laws “right-to-work” (RTW). Unions prefer the term... - http://jenn2d2.tumblr.com/post...
mediumaevum: For medieval Christians, Easter was particularly enjoyable because it came after six weeks of hard fasting and abstinence. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, when churchgoers were marked with ashes, Lent was a time when everyone, rich and poor, was expected to forgo many everyday pleasures. The emphasis was on sacrifice and even commonplace... - http://jenn2d2.tumblr.com/post...
