"It's not specific to your searches. It's specific to aggregate of the anonymised searches in that area. When you next search for that thing in that area, the result given isn't based on what you selected previously - it's based on what the most common selection is. So basically, if lots of people in a specific area always search for a specific thing, suggestions will favour that thing over other options. It's a way of improving search suggestions without tracking individuals. This is massively simplified, but imagine that you search for "cafe" when you're close to your daily commuting station. You pick "Cafe Macs", which is your favourite. Apple notes that, and chalks an anonymous "1" in favour of Cafe Macs. If lots of people always choose Cafe Macs, that will be the option everyone in that area who starts typing "Cafe..." will get. However, it's based on the aggregate, not your individual data. So if you chose "Cafe Wah" instead, it would add a "vote" to Cafe Wah – but if Cafe Macs..."
