I was in a meeting with EPS officials a little over a year ago and they were quite happy to share that from 2007 to 2012, the 8 crime indicators that EPS tracks were down 40%, and that's despite call volumes increasing by 5% each year across the service. And with the exception of Delta Zero, the message was that the Downtown Division isn't as unsafe as the headlines would have you believe. Again, as I mentioned in the post, let's make the case for increased funding from other levels of government if the numbers are as you say, with 20% of demand coming from other areas.
